AMBLESIDE will have its world premiere as the closing night film of the Boston Film Festival on Monday, September 22nd at the Shalin Liu Performance Center!

Directed by Mitch Jenkins and produced by Paula Crickard, Maria Jesus Govinden, and Alan Govinden, this sweeping period drama stars Ellie Bamber, Medhi Dehbi, JJ Feild, Rupert Perry Jones, Rhona Mitra, and Amy Beth Hayes.

Set in 1925, AMBLESIDE tells the coming-of-age story of 17-year-old Lucy Gladwell, who, after being recently orphaned, is sent from England to live under the guardianship of her uncle George. George has plans to marry Lucy off to a wealthy plantation owner for his own financial gain, but Lucy’s heart takes a different path when she falls deeply in love with Krishna, a local laborer.

As their forbidden love blossoms on the lush island of Mauritius, Lucy and Krishna must navigate the harsh realities of race, class, and societal expectations. With time running out and impossible choices to make, their devotion to one another is put to the ultimate test.

THE LAST DIVE will screen at the Boston Film Festival at the Shalin Liu Performance Center at 4:30pm on September 21st at 4;30pm!

At the heart of the film is W***y, a 22-foot-wide Giant P
acific Manta Ray, and Terry, an 80-year-old diver with a troubled past. For more than 19 years, W***y would signal his presence by slapping a massive wing against the hull of Terry’s sailboat. Each time, Terry would gear up in SCUBA and climb onto W***y’s back, exploring the wonders of the underwater world alongside his unlikely companion.

Now, nearing the end of his life, Terry embarks on one last journey to a remote island in hopes of finding W***y and saying goodbye.

HEART OF A LION will screen at the Boston Film Festival on September 20th at 8:30PM at the Paramount Theater, Emerson College.

Directed by Joe Pontecorvo and produced by Jeff Hogan, with executive producers Jon Ayers and Dorothy Bahna, this feature-length documentary stars Joe Pontecorvo, Jeff Hogan, and Mark Elbroch, Director of Panthera’s Puma Program.

The film takes viewers on an incredible journey following biologist Mark Elbroch as he travels from the rugged wilderness of Jackson, Wyoming, to the misty forests of Washington’s Olympic Peninsula.
