The Edinburgh Festival Fringe is a world-renowned performing arts festival that takes place every August for three weeks in Edinburgh, Scotland’s capital city. From big names in the world of entertainment to unknown artists looking to build their careers, the festival caters for everyone and includes theatre, comedy, dance, physical theatre, circus, cabaret, children's shows, musicals, opera, music, spoken word, exhibitions and events. In 2024, the Fringe will take place 02-26 August.

We moved into Fringe Central back in June (feels like a lifetime ago!), and it’s been great settling into the space and trying out all the different ways it can be used.

We hosted dozens of events over August, including school visits, artist and industry networking sessions, a welcome address with Jack Rooke and a Screen Scotland event with Richard Gadd 🤩

Over the past few weeks we’ve opened the doors for co-working sessions with Made in Scotland applicants, and we’re planning to host a festive event in December – keep your eyes peeled for more info 👀

We want Fringe Central to become a welcoming and open space for artists, Edinburgh’s residents and partner community groups all year round. Find out more, including how you can support it 👇

Our Generation Fringe 2026 cohort had an incredible experience at Tristan & Yseult last week, getting stuck into an inspiring practical workshop with Emma Rice Company before watching the performance at the Lyceum.

In case you missed it, Generation Fringe is our year-long project giving local schoolkids from Leith Academy and Wester Hailes High School the opportunity to explore different career pathways and performance genres in the arts.

Massive thanks to National Lottery Young Start for supporting the project, and to Emma Rice Company and the Lyceum for hosting us!
