We are thrilled to announce the first of the Durham Fringe Academy Online workshops!
First up, Fringe expert Paul Levy will deliver a lunchtime session titled, 'Creating A Solo Show'. Solo shows have been increasing at fringe festivals and on the tour circuit for many years. So what are the ingredients of a successful and satisfying solo show at fringe festivals and beyond? What are the different ways of creating solo work and ensuring that the solo format is experienced by audiences as a virtue and not a compromise? How does the solo performer who cannot afford a director maintain objectivity? How does a solo performer on tour alone maintain their health and well-being?
📆 Paul's session will take place Thursday 17th September 12:00 - 13:00.
We're also thrilled to host this full-day online session by Louise Gregory who will take us on a deep-dive around how to plan a successful touring show. This is a great opportunity for anyone who is interested in planning their first touring show, or perhaps wants to improve their knowledge and learn some best practices.
📆 Louise's workshop wil take place Tuesday 27 October 10:00 - 16:00.
These sessions are FREE to attend as a Durham Fringe Academy member - all you need to do is sign up online at academy.durhamfringe.co.uk
We are thrilled that the Durham Fringe Academy project is supported using public funding by the National Lottery through Arts Council England.
