🎺Don't miss out, tickets are selling quickly for Grimethorpe Colliery Band at Durham Brass Festival

Founded over a century ago in a Yorkshire mining village, they became known the world over through Brassed Off, a film that turns 30 this year.

Since then they haven't slowed down for a moment. The FIFA World Cup. The BBC Proms. Eurovision. The 2012 London Olympic Opening Ceremony. And in 2024, performing alongside Coldplay as part of their headline Glastonbury set in front of 125,000 people live and more than 25 million watching on TV.

🕺Dance, walk or ride to the beat as part of a new feature for this year's Durham Brass Festival!

As part of the We Move Together programme, some of the festival’s events will have extra activities, combing movement with music, for people to get involved in.

🔷There will be a Big Walk at Chester-le-Street’s Riverside Park, where residents will be accompanied by a lively street band.

🔷Festivalgoers can dance along to big 90s hits at Spennymoor’s Brass Bash.

🔷Newton Aycliffe Big Brass Bash will host FireRide Cycle’s free, interactive cycling pop-up.
