The best way to start the Christmas season ... the Children's Lantern Parade at Durham Christmas Festival takes place on Sunday 6th December, departing Durham Market Place at 3pm for the lantern lit parade up to Durham Cathedral.

At the Cathedral, lantern bearers and their families enjoy the St Nicholas Service, a service of Christmas stories and favourite carols in the incredible setting of Durham's Cathedral.

Let's introduce you to one of our new traders who you'll find this year in our Craft & Producers' Marquee on Palace Green at Durham Christmas Festival (4 to 6 December).

Forrest Crafts will be joining us with a beautiful stall full of handcrafted wooden signs, decorations, chalk boards, bookmarks, egg cups and more.

And they can all be personalised free of charge there and then!

Over the next few weeks we'll introduce you to our traders at our markets ... and you can start planning your visit to Durham Christmas Festival!
