This year's theme IN[FLUX] inspired interactive, playful installations while exploring forces that shape our city: movement and stability, structure and experimentation.

Shoutout to these Partners and many more for designing fun, whimsical experiences for the Block Party!

• Bicycle Forest by Perkins & Will: Reimagining Seattle's bicycle culture as a surreal landscape of color, motion, and immersive play

• Be A[maze]ing by Mackenzie: Inviting attendees to release their inner child through a large-scale children's toy

• What Happened to Hello by Angela Goldberg and Lilia Deering: Looking at the nature of relational interaction and flirting through design and the creation of objects

• Input / Output by Gensler: Attendees requested art and the design team inside delivered imperfect hand-drawn illustrations created in real time as a reminder of the creative exchange

• "Pencil" Pantheon by NBBJ: Inviting attendees to "look up and reconnect with the cosmos" in a low-walled space filled with handmade drawing tools

Each year, we're excited to see Built Installations live on beyond the Festival. Check out these projects that were designed with their next life in mind!

• Re[cover], re[frame], re[member], made from salvaged lumber that was sourced through deconstruction partnerships, laid into framing and ready to be re-purposed

• What the Soil Remembers, a composting vessel and dining table donated to the Beacon Hill Food Forest for future use

• Sky Patch, made from ordinary construction materials from Lease Crutcher Lewis that can be easily re-used at a new site

• (Un)Build Kaleidoscope: making use of Project (Un)Build's reversible construction system to create reversible timber structures and tubes that can be rolled, unrolled, and reused

Thanks to all of our Built Installation Partners for committing to SDF's sustainability goals!

Looking back on the Create Now Seattle x SDF Mixer Adobe! ⭐

This was such a fun night of connection, inspiration with talks from graphic designers and Adobe pros, and fun - with activities like pen making!

Thank you to our rockstar host Meghan Arnold and the entire Adobe team for making this event happen.

This year's Seattle Design Festival brought together over 8,500 attendees in a celebration of design - and it wouldn't be possible without our sponsors and funders!

Thank you to ZGF Architects, MG2 and Pierson Ferdinand LLP for supporting SDF through sponsorship, our funders at Office of Arts and Culture, 4Culture, ArtsWA and National Endowment for the Arts, plus the many sponsors who also partnered! We couldn't do it without you.

See you next year ⭐
