Meet our two new team members who joined us earlier this year! Krista, our Marketing Lead, and Jessica, our Business Administration Lead.
Krista, our marketing right hand, loves working with the community in Seattle. She graduated from the University of Washington Seattle last year in June with a B.A. in English: Creative Writing and a minor in Diversity, and now she is exploring her interests in event management, marketing, PR, and social media.
She has worked with to interview BIPOC artists and community leaders, and she has been running her own podcast, Krista’s Curiosity, since 2020. In her free time, she enjoys reading fiction, poetry, and manga/graphic novels, and when she isn’t reading, she’s spending time with her family and friends.
Jessica, our business admin expert, says:
Hey everyone! My name is Jessica but you can call me Jess! I own a small business called Jessica’s Kusina (.kusina) where I sell Filipino infused and specialty baked goods! I’m originally from the Aloha State 🌺 and moved to WA for college where I studied Business Administration 📇. I’m super excited to be a part of the Palengke National team! I have been able to show case my heritage with events from the Palengke and I’m truly grateful to give a piece of history through my baking to my community! I’m looking forward in growing connections and building foundations for our team! I can’t wait for everyone to see what we have in store! ✨
We are excited to have both of them on the team to continue building relationships with community partners and members. We are so grateful that our team is growing and we hope to add more team members dedicated to creating and providing a safe space for the business owners and supporters in our communities.
Come to any of our Palengke events this year to get to know the team, our stories, and why we do what we do! And also for the bomb food, the shopping, the jams, the vibes, and spending time with each other… ❤️💛💙
