Flowfeel Fests and Contests

Flowfeel Fests and Contests Flowfeel discovers emerging writers and creators—and helps move standout work forward. The fest is now going into its 7th year and is growing. Youtube.

The Chicago Comedy Film Festival was founded in 2010 with our first fest launching in 2011. The festival originated with the idea that a) comedy needs more support and b) Chicago needs to showcase local and international comedy talent. We showcase shorts, features, web series, and student work. We welcome the 1 minute music video as well as the touching feature comedy. We aim to showcase smart comedy and prove that comedy has something to say. Over time comedy filmmakers find themselves struggling to be considered equal to serious and experimental works of art. Chicago Comedy Film Festival is ran and organized by artists in the Chicago creative community that value comedy as vital and influential art form. We welcome all filmmakers to submit their work, both first time filmmakers as well as larger budget films. We support and aim to showcase a variety of budgetary works and want to both award achievement as well as put at the forefront rising talent in comedy filmmaking. Worth a repost.
No matter if you are a screenwriter, actor or filmmaker, your stuff on social NEEDS to be consistent!

Consistency for your social content goes far beyond posting a certain number of times per week.

That barely scratches the surface!

* Is everything on brand?
* Are you just reposting content across platforms blindly?
* Is your content easy to follow in theme?

Many of you know our Artistic Director, Brent, has been teaching social content at Columbia College for years now. Social Content Creation is necessary part of your career and it MUST be done right. Follow along for more info on opportunities to learn and get your social content booming!

WEEKLY HACK: Stop Writing for the Imaginary Gatekeeper ⭐

A lot of writers are still trying to write the script they THINK the industry wants.
The right genre. The right budget. The right comps. The right kind of protagonist. The thing that feels like whatever just sold.

⚠️But chasing the market has a built-in problem: by the time you can SEE a trend, everyone else can see it too.

What tends to get through—especially when readers are moving through stacks of great scripts—is specificity.

That doesn’t mean ignoring the marketplace. It means understanding the difference between writing with market awareness and writing by market instruction.

What can I write that won’t feel like five other scripts in the pile?
That’s where your advantage probably is.

Indie doesn’t mean disconnected. 🔔

We’ve spent years building real relationships—
with agents, casting directors, indie studios, and brands.

And we’ve used those connections to open doors for our alumni.

With our help our creators have:
→ Signed with top agencies (CAA, UTA, WME)
→ Worked with Netflix, HBO, Disney + many more
→ Built social audiences in the millions

This isn’t hope. It’s track record.

We’ve BUILT something bigger—
a community where indie creators don’t have to figure it out alone.

FlowFeel is where creators connect to opportunity—and each other. 🤩
