Tens of thousands of people flock to downtown Raleigh each December 31 for the family-friendly community celebration of art, presented by Artsplosure. First Night Raleigh 2022 will take place on Friday December 31, 2021 from 2:00 pm until Midnight. With over 100 performances and activities in nearly 35 venues, there is truly something for everyone. ightraleigh.com. First Night Raleigh is a presentation of Artsplosure. The first First Night Raleigh was held December 31, 1991 with more than 15,000 people attending First Night Raleigh 1992. Festival attendance has grown over the years, with a record breaking 80,000 revelers in downtown Raleigh for First Night Raleigh 2012.

It’s finally here! 🎉 Raleigh’s biggest New Year’s Eve celebration kicks off today at WRAL First Night!

The fun starts at 2 PM — featuring tasty food, vendors, and rides. At 6 PM, don’t miss the People’s Procession, followed by the early fireworks and acorn drop at 7 PM for kids. Then, keep the party going with live performances across 6 venues and our Main Stage at City Plaza, all leading up to the legendary Acorn Drop at midnight.
