Meet the designers shaping Venice Design Week 2026.

Today we introduce Fernando Pinto Santos, Portuguese designer and founder of BOAH NOVA, a lighting studio based in Leça da Palmeira built around a community of designers and artisans.

His practice is rooted in a modernist approach to light: simple forms, wood worked on a small scale, digital precision combined with traditional craft. His lamp BAI2f, a broad circular shade in birch wood, black on the outside, gold within, works entirely through reflection, shaping the atmosphere of a space without ever becoming its protagonist

Beyond Venice Design Week, Arte Design Venezia continues to bring design to Venice throughout the year.

This September, the association presents FLOATING, an exhibition dedicated to contemporary glass art, hosted at Lo Verso Art Studio on Giudecca as part of The Venice Glass Week.

Fourteen international artists and studios come together to explore the many possibilities of glass, from sculptural pieces to functional forms and research-driven works.

On September 13 at 5PM, meet the artists and discover the exhibition through a special Meet the Designers event.

Meet the designers shaping Venice Design Week 2026

Today we introduce Anna Hapanowicz, a Warsaw-based designer working across ceramics and graphic design, graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw.

Her ceramic lamps are built through plaster mould-making and hand-finishing, precise, geometric forms inspired by the animal world and ancient cultures. Her MAZE collection, which includes the Bull lamp drawn from Minoan mythology, has been exhibited at SUAC in Japan and at the Royal Łazienki Museum in Warsaw.

Today we introduce Carlo Dal Vera, architect trained at IUAV Venice with a master's in environmental design from the Free University of Bolzano.

His work begins with an archive: the Industrie Dal Vera, founded in Conegliano Veneto in 1884. Each piece is studied from the original drawings and updated only where necessary, with attention to comfort, materials, durability, and repairability.

Today we introduce Ivan Aguilar Castillo, Mexican architect and product designer, trained in Milan, working at the intersection of architecture, light, and natural stone.

His collection Tramonto transforms hand-selected onyx remnants into circular lighting objects: sculptural by day, a source of indirect light by night. Each piece is hand-cut and hand-finished, extending the life of noble materials while preserving the singular character of the stone.

Meet the designers shaping Venice Design Week 2026

Today we introduce Sabrina Kenssous, French-Moroccan interior designer and founder of Etni'KS, a design brand built on ethical collaborations with artisans across Africa.

With 14 years of experience in hospitality and residential design across the Middle East, and a practice now based in Barcelona, Kenssous works at the meeting point of contemporary design and handmade savoir-faire. Her objects, a coffee table woven from Elephant Grass in northern Ghana, a portable lamp in wheel-thrown Moroccan clay, a rug handwoven by women artisans in Bolgatanga, carry the specificity of where and how they were made.

Today we introduce Ekaterina Borovkova, engineer, product designer, and founder of ADJ STYLE, an Italian brand creating home accessories and décor from regenerated natural leather.

Founded in 2016, ADJ STYLE works across residential, hospitality, and contract interiors, with a practice that brings together craft, material research, and collaboration.

Her ELEGIA collection, a multifunctional object in regenerated leather, plexiglass, and steel, assembled without glue or stitching, is a good example: a single form that adapts to the space and use it finds itself in.
