Our arts centre in Hammersmith is now open for studio hire, performances, high quality pay-what-you-can training, and schools projects. We’re a democratic collective of 9 interdisciplinary artists,

championed by leading UK theatre-makers, including Adrian Lester, Nick Hytner, Lyndsey Turner, and Declan Donnellan.

Have you heard the news? As we shared on our Instagram last week, today marks a new chapter for SCRUM Theatre:

“To our SCRUMmunity,

On 13th March, we are closing the doors at 191 Talgarth Road and joining Riverside Studios as their new Resident Company.

This will be a thrilling new chapter. At Riverside Studios, we will expand our performance and workshop programme in a new home with a rich history of cutting-edge theatre.

In the meantime, we are working to open a new studios site in the not-too-distant future. Watch this space...

The Talgarth Road project has been two years of absolute joy, fuelled by you, the thousands of creatives and supporters who transformed a near derelict building into a buzzing and packed-out arts centre.

So farewell 191 Talgarth Road, hello Riverside Studios, and onwards & upwards in the arts!

Love,

The SCRUM Team
(Claire, Dom, Flo, Gráinne, Jerrell, Lucie, Rebecca, Rousha & Wofai)”

This May’s p(l)ay-what-you-can workshop at SCRUM: Finding Play!

*honk honk*

Some clowning workshops are scary.

Not this one.

This is the workshop for performers, comedians and theatre makers who want to dip their toe into the world of clowning and find out how clowning principles can help them to find play, connection and joy in their work.

Expect to break the fourth wall and connect directly with your audience. Expect to fail. Expect to PLAY and have FUN!

📍SCRUM Studios, Hammersmith
🎯 Actors and performers; 18+

ABOUT THE WORKSHOP:
We know it when we see it. The actor who is simply there, fully present - able to listen, feel, respond, take action but without apparent effort or need. In this workshop we will slow down and use the dynamic yet delicately nuanced ‘Awareness Through Movement’ lessons from the Feldenkrais Method to listen inwards and discover how we can involve our whole selves in an action.

ABOUT VICTORIA WORSLEY:
Victoria Worsley was an actor, theatre maker and movement director for 20 years before qualifying as a Feldenkrais Practitioner in 2007. She has a busy general practice in North London and became an Assistant training in 2021. She has worked in many drama schools including Mountview, Oxford School of Drama and Rose Bruford and teaches workshops with John Wright and for Shapes in Motion. Her book “Feldenkrais for Actors, how to do less and discover more” was published by Nick Hern Books in 2016. It has been translated into Italian with a new Korean translation pending!

AFTER THE WORKSHOP:
After the workshop with Victoria please join us for Snacks ‘n’ Chats ! We're holding tea for all workshop attendees - a chance to get to know your fellow creatives, skill swap and, most importantly, eat biscuits.
