From down south at the Scottish borders, to Kinross & Perth, and all the way to the Isles of Skye & Arran – our passionate teams are committed to supporting Scotland’s educational system by bringing hands-on STEM workshops directly to pupils in remote and rural communities ✨

Whether we’re visiting one of the smallest schools in the country or a larger regional hub, Generation Science ensures that young people, no matter where they live, can access the same high-quality, inspiring science workshops as those in our most populated cities.

Our work would not be possible without our generous supporters:
Royal Air Force Youth & STEM, The Spectris Foundation, Garfield Weston Foundation, The Gannochy Trust (whose final year of funding delivered 50 workshops to Perth & Kinross), The Margot and Andrew Tennant 1996 Charitable Trust, The Basil Death Trust, Souter Charitable Trust, our Catalysts and those who remain anonymous

We’re delighted to have formed a multi-year partnership with Statkraft, who have funded Generation Science visits for schools close to their proposed wind farm sites.

In 2026, Statkraft’s support has enabled Generation Science to visit 37 primary schools, many of them in remote and rural communities, bringing immersive and accessible STEM workshops to areas that may not otherwise get classroom visits.

Statkraft shares our belief that equal access to STEM education at a young age is vital to give everyone access to the best opportunities in life.

Generation Science is almost halfway through the Summer tour and our teams are busy delivering exciting shows to pupils all across Scotland ✨

Far up north, our exciting workshop 'Our Changing Climate' was brought to the Orkney and Caithness areas, leading pupils on an interactive journey to discover what climates are, what causes changes in global temperature and what we can do to help our planet ♻️🌱

These shows are supported by SSEN Transmission, Siemens Energy and BAM UK&I, who are committed to educating local school children about the energy transformation and inspiring STEM careers.

During the EdSciFest, we were joined by Prof Dame Lorna Dawson of The James Hutton Institute and international experts for an interactive event exploring the science of provenance in The Science of Origin 🌍

Specialists from The James Hutton Institute, AHK Group, the Brazilian Federal Police, the University of South Wales and Bologna discussed how scientists are able to determine authenticity and link objects, minerals, or people to places, including crime scenes and illegal trade.
