SA Scale Model Expo 26 Theme 3 of 3..!

Australiana!

Football, meat pies, kangaroos…you know how it goes. This year’s model expo features the theme “Australiana”, i.e. anything that relates to our Australian history or way of life. Think Holden cars, Boomerang aircraft, Mad Max interceptor, maybe even a shrimp on the barbie! The list goes on.

Enter a scale model that represents Australian icons and you could be eligible for some prizes. The entry will be displayed on our Australiana table and can still be judged within its respective category. There are some great kits available and expo is getting close, so “crack on” and build something special.

SA Scale Model Expo Theme number 2 of 3! one for the auto enthusiasts... Endurance Racers..

Endurance racing is the ultimate test of both drivers and race machinery. From the early days of the Le Mans 24 Hours in 1923 to the present, to the Bathurst 1000, Sandown 500 and Spa 24 Hour Touring Car races, the Nurburgring 24 Hours, USA classics like the Daytona 24 and Sebring 12 Hours, and many other sports car and touring car races. For the open-wheel racing fans, there are also the long distance events such as the Indianapolis 500.

Help celebrate this diverse and rich racing history, and build a model of any race car that has competed in a long distance circuit race, as long as the scheduled distance was 500km or more. (No rally cars please – we will save that for a future Group Build theme). Any scale, any race car from any endurance race with a scheduled distance of 500 km or more. The possibilities are almost endless, from over 100 years of endurance racing

Sunday’s forecast is looking great! We’re looking forward to a morning filled with delicious food, great stalls & plenty of community spirit! We have some exciting new food stalls for you to check out - details in the comments below👇 - alongside the regular stalls you know and love. Stock up on local fresh produce, eggs, honey, bread & baked goods. Relax with a coffee, enjoy live music from our student buskers and browse our indoor & outdoor stalls. It’s the perfect way to shop local & bag a bargain!

🎟Booked stallholders should head to the Front Carpark (off Ilfracombe Ave) from 6:00am to pay the balance and collect their ticket.
🚗🚕Outdoor stallholders will then be directed to the Back Gate (off King George Ave) and shown to their stall space in the rear carpark/driveway. Indoor stallholders will be shown to their allocated parking area. The Front Carpark is not available for stallholder parking during trading hours to maximise the parking available for market customers.
💳We take EFTPOS ONLY for seller stall fee payment, no exceptions...please remember to bring your card!

** By entering the market, stallholders are committing to stay until pack up at noon, as cars will not be permitted to move during market trading hours for safety reasons.
🙏Thank you for your support. We are a family-friendly community market, run by volunteers. Abusive behaviour will not be tolerated.
🛍Shoppers are welcome to arrive from 7:30am until pack up at 12:00pm midday.
🅿️Limited parking spaces are available for shoppers in the front car park (off Ilfracombe Ave) for a $2 donation.
❌ We have been notified by Minda Inc. that some market patrons are using their private carpark on market days. Please note, this is private parking for staff and residents only and also a main access point for emergency vehicles and ambulances servicing their facilities. We ask that you kindly respect their safety and privacy by parking elsewhere.
🪙Many stallholders accept cash only and there are no EFTPOS facilities on the grounds, so bring your change!
🚭Brighton Secondary School grounds are a non-smoking/vaping zone at all times.
