NAMM ANNOUNCEMENT

And a little backstory on fader design...

One aspect of fader design that has always perplexed fader designers and been a sort of holy grail for DJs is the magical light and buttery feel. With the advent of non-contact fader technologies, this has meant that a fader designer can essentially design a fader with zero tension.

In our design lab, interestingly enough the challenge with the tension adjustment on the full bodied innoFADERs was not to make it super light, but to maintain the smoothness even at higher amounts of tension. We achieved this by special precision rail polishing and fitting of the tension adjust mechanism and have essentially kept the same design since 2008.

However, the mini innoFADER from the beginnings in 2012 was designed without tension adjustment to allow for the most compact and cost effective design. The very first prototypes we made were so light that they moved on their own when we tapped on the table. So I gave the mechanical engineers a challenge to make the fader super smooth and light yet not move on its own even when held at a 90 degree angle. The purpose was to create an amazing scratch fader that is also practical for using in a public performance environment.

Fast forward to today, it seems there's a recent push to make the faders even faster and lighter. Sharpness isn't an issue anymore as our current faders are all accurate to within 0.1mm. But the thinking is the lighter the fader is, the faster your cuts will be.

So now we have it...the mini innoFADER ULTRA LITE. Made just like a mini innoFADER PRO, but without any tension spring. Something you could have done before by modding, but now we made it easier by building them that way.
