Week /
It’s week, so we’re highlighting some of the badass ladies of LF.
Can you name a more on-fire rider on the planet these days than Rivers? The answer is no. Much has been written, said, discussed and posted about Rivers this year, and for good reason — she’s the first ever female to win the Rider of the Year award. We could end the caption right there. Hard stop. But what Rivers is doing for women’s riding, for the sport as a whole, and for so much more, deserves all the digital flowers and then some.
When she’s not dominating the contest scene (she goes for an insane of 4-peat at LAO next month), Rivers is dominating the content game, whether it’s in front of the camera or behind it. And she’s doing it all professionally, humbly, and with a smile on her face. That smile and humility do a good job of masking the raging inferno of motivation that seem to constantly burn inside her. That sort of motivation also belies her youth, but that’s Rivers: constantly pushing, striving, and expecting more. And to her credit, she’s hitting those goals she’s setting for herself, and we’re all better off getting to witness it. Rivers is the present and future of wakeboarding — all of it, not just women’s — and we couldn’t be more stoked to have her as part of the LFG crew.
Helpful tip for the rest of you out there: get yourself a good popcorn maker, because the Rivers show is just getting started.
