Gulf Coast Hot Air Balloon Festival The South Baldwin Chamber of Commerce is proud to host the annual Gulf Coast Hot Air Balloon Festival on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday evenings.

The annual Gulf Coast Hot Air Balloon Festival is held on the first weekend in May each year. Balloons are visible at dusk and dawn hours when weather conditions are favorable. *All hot air balloon activities are weather and wind dependent.*

Balloons will fly and set up for a balloon glow (wind/weather permitting) at dusk (7:30 p.m. - 8 p.m.) Sponsor flights take place at dawn (6 a.m.) so keep yo

ur eyes to the sky to spot them! (Schedule may change; follow the social media channels for the latest news). Enjoy a unique shopping experience with over 80+ vendors to choose from. In addition to arts and crafts vendors, all of the downtown merchants at OWA will be open to welcome you. Food vendors, restaurants, children's entertainment (kids zone!), live music, and of course, The Park at OWA will provide activities to keep the whole family busy!

🎈🥰 A Sweet Sunday Surprise! After weather kept our scheduled morning flights grounded on Friday and Saturday, a few of our amazing pilots decided—last minute—to take to the skies this morning just for our community. 💛

This is not an official festival event, just a special treat from pilots who truly love what they do and wanted to share it with you. 🫶

If you’re lucky, you may catch them flying this morning (between approximately 7 AM – 9 AM (weather permitting)—but please note, WHEP has not committed to broadcasting live updates at this time, and we will not be monitoring or reporting balloon locations on Facebook as this is entirely the pilots’ choice. Pilots have shared that a likely landing area will be the soccer fields off Highway 98, just west of Downtown Foley, but locations can vary based on wind.

Meanwhile, our team is spending today cleaning up and taking a well-earned break with family and friends after an incredible 2026 festival weekend. 💛
