Please review the festival pet policy for to ensure everyone has a great time.

PET POLICY

The Columbus Scottish Festival Committee wants the festival to be a family affair. We are a Pet Friendly Event.

We understand that pets are an integral part of many families. We want to continue to allow pet owners to bring their pets to the festival so we have developed these guidelines. Please follow the guidelines so that everyone (Pet, Pet Owner and Non-Pet owner) may have a good experience at the festival. Thank you.

Pet owners are required to keep control of their pet(s) at all times. The Columbus Scottish Festival reserves the right to have any pet removed from the grounds for any reason the Festival personnel deem a danger or a hazard or a nuisance.

1. All visiting pets, shall be on a leash, controlled by a responsible adult(over the age of 18 yrs)at all times.
2. Leashes shall be no longer than 4 feet.
3. Leashes will be static. No retractable leashes allowed.
4. All pets shall be currently vaccinated. Vaccination information must be readily available, if required.
5. Visiting animal are prohibited from the following areas; Sheepdog Demonstration area. Unless they are outside of the Demo Area.
NOTE: Well behaved, animals may be allowed in the stands for those events. However, the venue coordinator, at coordinators own discretion, may have any animal removed from the area for any reason.
6. Visiting owners are responsible for the immediate clean up and proper disposal of any and all animal waste produced by their visiting pet.
7. Some waste bags will be available at the gates and information center. But owners are responsible to bring their own.
8. Unruly or nuisance pets and/or their owners will be evicted from the festival grounds and no refunds of any fees will be granted.
9. Absolutely, no pets will be left in unattended vehicles or left unattended on the grounds by their owner or agent.
10. Any injuries involving pets and humans will require the local proper authorities be contacted and their investigation be completed before both the owner and animal involved be allowed to leave the grounds.
11. Service animals are exempt from all of the above except the following:
11a-Not under proper control according to the Sheepdog Demonstration coordinator.
11b-The pet is not controlled by a proper leash as defined above.
11c-The owner does not clean up after their service animal as described above.
11d-The owner may be asked if the service animal is required because of a disability and/or what work or task has the dog been trained to perform.

12. Any animals or pets that are not required to be on leash must be approved by the Scottish Festival Executive committee.

Saturday Games Update!
Athletes, here’s your quick rundown for this weekend’s festival:

Check‑in: 7:45–8:15 AM
Throws Start: 8:30 AM
Parking: Grass field just north of the Athletics field

Bring your tents, chairs, and whatever gear you need — we’ll direct you where to set up when you arrive.

We had complications with registrations, so please share this post with anyone you know who’s competing.
