A24’s new THE TEXAS CHAIN SAW MASSACRE series is expected to explore Leatherface’s early years, with producer Roy Lee confirming that an origin style approach is “the idea” for the show.

The series is currently in pre production with STRANGE DARLING filmmaker JT Mollner attached to write and direct, while Glen Powell, Roy Lee and original co creator Kim Henkel are among the producers.

That means the project could dig deeper into the family and environment that shaped Leatherface before the events of the original 1974 movie, rather than simply remaking the same story again. Leatherface’s younger years have been explored before, most notably in the 2017 prequel LEATHERFACE.

A24 is not just bringing Leatherface back. It looks like they want to show us how the monster was made.

R.L. Stine will be at the library for an in-person author conversation celebrating his iconic Goosebumps series.

🎟️ Tickets go on sale Wednesday, September 16!
➡️ Space is limited, with half of the tickets released at 12:00 PM and the remaining half at 6:00 PM.

Ticket Options:
• $30 — Admission + two books
• $50 — Admission + two books + access to a book signing and photo opportunity with R.L. Stine

Seating is first come, first served, and accessible seating will be available.
