The EL train is iconic Chicago. And the Lake Street EL is the second oldest line in our city, established in 1893. Cool fact to keep in mind while watching hundreds of Porsches stream under the Lake Street EL, entering Elizabeth as the sun rises on Check26.







On Saturday, Aug. 22, Checkeditout and the Napleton Porsche organization will bring Check26 to four blocks of Fulton Market. Ground zero lands at the intersection of Fulton and Ada. This year, we’re debuting the Napleton Centerstage Pass, offering registrants an opportunity to have their Porsches displayed on the premier block of the event.









Per usual, Checkeditout is a free-flowing event highlighting the amenities in the area. Including event partner Geneva Seal’s new 8,000-square-foot watch showroom and event partner Fulton Bond’s luxury condo project, where eventgoers can tour the models. Diverse food options abound across the site, with a large selection of restaurants on Fulton to the east. Keep strolling and you’ll find even more local food, art, and music via the West Loop Music & Art Fest, running concurrently, hosted by the West Central Association.

Today’s parking lots are a somber corral of monochrome vehicles painted to fade into the background. Because bold statements offend just as easily as inspire. Black? White? Gray? Inoffensive sure bets. Peru Red? It makes you feel something. Strongly. Porsche’s palette has always leaned bold. Rare Shades is 000’s traveling celebration of exactly that.

Last week, Rare Shades landed at a film production studio in New York City during the NYCxDESIGN Festival. Our friends at 000 were kind enough to extend an invite. The exhibit was incredible, with a fine selection of Porsches from across the brand’s history and model range painted in nearly 100 of Zuffenhausen’s rarest and most daring hues. And one very black Slantnose, the last 930 completed in 1990, displayed lonesome in an all-black sound stage.

CIO’s architect-in-residence, Dan Cubric ), was impressed with how the vibrant spectrum of color on display reverberated across the galvanized walls of WildFlower Studios. The space, designed by renowned Danish architect Bjarke Ingels, was an attraction all its own. 000’s site selection elevated the autobahn artistry within it, and vice versa.

Thank you to 000 for the inspiring experience. Keep rare Porsche colors in your head as we get closer to announcing this year’s location. We have a Sonderwunsch unicorn to take you on a tour of Check26.

The Off The Map Tour is back on the road next month and headed to Euroquipe. Why a book tour? Easy answer: we want to share the CIO story with as many like-minded car enthusiasts as possible. Complex answer: showcasing the book at CIO partner locations and inspiring motorhead hubs extends the book’s narrative web into the real world. The people, the places, and the cars on the OTM tour are part of the greater Checkeditout story. Euroquipe’s been part of the story since 2023. They’ve brought some incredible cars in the past two years, with Adam and Rachel becoming great friends.




OTM Tour Stop No. 2 pulls up to Euroquipe on Sunday, May 17. The St. Charles shop is home to some legendary rides. New addition 996 Cup car. And the fastest 20-valve Audi on the Bonneville Salt Flats. OTM creatives will be on hand telling stories, signing books, and hanging out alongside a selection of CIO Porsches.

El progreso cultural florece en el terreno de la yuxtaposición. La representación que Diske Uno hace del 993 de Reuben Ramirez es un ejemplo en múltiples capas. El automóvil: un icono alemán construido al estilo JDM, bajado sobre unos icónicos rines japoneses —Regamasters en frente y los TE37 en el trasero—, el 993 de Reuben se distingue de manera impactante de lo convencional.


La trayectoria artística de Diske comenzó con un aerosol en las calles de Sinaloa, donde evolucionó hasta convertirse en un respetado artista multidisciplinario. Hoy en día, su fusión de motivos indígenas mexicanos en contextos contemporáneos capta miradas mucho más allá de su México natal y de la extensión urbana de Chicago, su actual hogar.


Diske afirma que su colaboración con CIO presenta a “un niño soñador que, a través de su creatividad, construye su propio camino día a día en un mundo repleto de posibilidades.” Un reflejo de los métodos de trabajo, tanto suyos como de Reuben, puestos en práctica.

Cultural advancement blooms in the soil of juxtaposition. Diske Uno’s depiction of Reuben Ramirez’ 993 is an example in layers. The car: a German icon built JDM-style. Sat low on iconic Japanese wheels, Regamasters up front, TE37s out back, Reuben’s 993 stands strikingly apart from traditional fare.



Diske’s artistic journey began with a spray can on the streets of Sinaloa, where he evolved into a respected multidisciplinary artist. Today, his blend of indigenous Mexican motifs in contemporary settings catches eyes far beyond his native Mexico and the urban expanse of his Chicago home.



Diske says his CIO collab features “a dreaming child who, through his creativity, builds his own path day-by-day in a world full of possibilities.” A reflection of both his and Reuben’s methods in action.
