Before there was Chattanooga Week , there was 423 Day

What began as a vision to celebrate Chattanooga’s people, culture, creativity, and community has grown into a citywide movement!

In 2026, celebrated its 14th year, including five years of official proclamation recognition!

From local artists and entrepreneurs to musicians, vendors, and community leaders, 423 Day has continued to create space for Chattanooga to celebrate its own while supporting the local creative economy.

And the impact didn’t stop there!

The growth and success of 423 Day inspired the creation of Chattanooga Week, expanding one day of celebration into an entire week dedicated to the city we call home!

One day sparked a movement. One movement continues to create opportunities.

Honoring Shane Morrow!!

Some legacies live far beyond the person. They live in the people encouraged, the doors opened, and the community forever changed.

We begin The Creators Ball’s Legacy Recognition series by remembering Shane Morrow

Through Rise Chattanooga , Jazzanooga, BOOM and his advocacy for Black artists and entrepreneurs, Shane helped create space for creativity, culture, and community to grow. He believed in people—and in what became possible when they had the support to build.

This November, Music, Fashion, & Arts Foundation will honor his lasting impact with a posthumous Legacy Recognition in Arts at The 2026 Creators Ball.

We invite you to share a memory, a lesson, or a “Shane-ism” in the comments. Help us celebrate the legacy he leaves with all of us.

Registration for TN Statewide Creatives Conference & Festival 3.0 is officially OPEN!

On April 24, 2027, creators from across Tennessee will come together in Chattanooga for a full day of connection, education, collaboration, and live creative experiences.
