While we can't control Mother Nature, we can can control how much fun we have and how much we raise for Lana's Love!

We are planning on still having the best day ever tomorrow, April 26 at the 11th annual Battle Below the Clouds!

We hope to still see you there because the date might be different but the BBQ is still delicious, and the cause is still so important!

If you can't make it to the event anymore, we still encourage you to make a donation to the Lana's Love Foundation. Their work for children with cancer and their families is so important.

Due to inclement weather, we have decided to reschedule the 11th annual Battle Below the Clouds to Sunday, April 26 to ensure the safety of our team members, competing BBQ teams and guests.

We will still have bluegrass, bbq and beautiful views from 10:30am-4pm on Sunday!

We apologize for any inconvenience and we hope you still come out to have a fun-filled day of BBQ and bluegrass in support of the Lana's Love Foundation on Sunday, April 26!

Meet your third and final Pork and Rib judge, Callie Burnette!

Originally from Austin, Texas, and a Graduate of the University of Alabama —Tuscaloosa, Callie Burnette has called Chattanooga home since 2012. Callie is the Partnerships Director at Visit Chattanooga , where she leads partner engagement and promotes and develops visitor experiences that showcase Chattanooga's one-of-a-kind appeal!

At a tender age, Callie developed an affinity for smoky Texas brisket; however, she has developed a seasoned appreciation for the techniques and tastes that you can only find around her Tennessee home.

Parker Hudson will be judging our BBQ competition teams this Saturday, April 25!

From an early age, Parker Hudson’s appreciation for fine barbecue was sparked when his father opened Big John’s BBQ in Lafayette, Georgia. Here, Hudson learned firsthand from his father how to select the best wood, manage the fire, and master cooking times for a variety of styles and cuts. The first time he spent an entire night tending a fire and controlling the heat to smoke a pork butt instilled in him a lifelong reverence for the craft.

From there, Hudson expanded his knowledge of wood smokers, developed experimental smoked sausage recipes, and produced smoked meats at a mass scale at the Chattanooga establishments Beast and Barrel and Main Street Meats. Though technically self-taught in whole animal butchery, he attributes a fair amount of his skills to the guidance and generosity of fellow butchers, cooks, and local farmers.

You can now find him at the newly opened breakfast and lunch spot Keystone Breakfast & Lunch, located on the North Shore, or completing one of many homestead processing projects.

Battle Below the Clouds is less than a week away 🤯 Allow us to introduce Kenny Burnap, a 2026 Pork & Ribs judge!

Raised to appreciate homegrown tomatoes and taught the secrets to making perfect beans and cornbread by his maternal grandparents in Ringgold, Georgia, Kenny Burnap has worked as a chef in Chattanooga for over 20 years. His love for preparing and enjoying food started early, encouraged by his paternal grandfather Ken Burnap who, in the '70s, was one of the first
growers of Pinot Noir in the States.

Having received his culinary degree in Portland, Oregon, Kenny worked at St. John's Restaurant as Sous Chef and was a co-founder and the executive chef of Kenny's Southside Sandwiches, called by writer John T. Edge "One of a new generation of breakfast spots [that] gives the first meal of the day the respect it deserves" in Garden & Gun magazine.

In his spare time, Kenny enjoys cooking for his wife and two daughters, reading, and collecting
records.

Who will be at Battle Below the Clouds BBQ Festival?!

Smash Boyz and Ember & Oak BBQ will be serving delicious food all day long!

The Bitter Alibi will be serving beer and canned cocktails!

Lou Wamp and the Bluetastics and Mountain Cove Band are going to be playing foot-tappin’ bluegrass all day long!

And, of course, our 15 BBQ competition teams!
