The platforms that curate our listening learn our appetites and feed them back in ever smoother forms, a steady drip of the expected that keeps the critical mind pleasantly asleep. The ear leans toward what it can predict, and the reward comes quick and counterfeit, gone as fast as it arrived
Andrew’s music is a counterweight to all of it. Each turn arrives from somewhere off the map, and the next moment keeps its secrets until the very last second. To follow him, the mind has to stay awake and present, meeting the music halfway. That friction is the gift. It rouses everything the algorithm works so hard to lull.
This is why his return matters to us. We have spent ten years tending rooms where listening remains an act of will, where a crowd chooses attention over ease. Andrew was there near the beginning of that work, and he comes back to it with an even clearer sense of what is at stake. Every record he plays is a wager that people still want to be surprised, and every time, the room proves him right.
The setting will be the most intimate of the series: small quarters, a devoted few, and all the latitude he needs to take risks and shape the night into a story only those present will hear.
