I’m just now coming up for air. Last Sunday was nothing short of MAGICAL.
On behalf of Kai Alcé, DJ Kemit, Salah Ananse and myself, THANK YOU. ❤️
You guys braved 90+ degree weather, showed up, danced, laughed, loved and partied with us, and we do NOT take that for granted.
I won’t go down a long list of names because, knowing me, I’d forget somebody. But I have to acknowledge my incredible staff and team, our production team, City of Atlanta Parks & Recreation, Atlanta Police, Atlanta Fire & Rescue, Atlanta Forestry, Grant Park Conservancy, Atlanta Weekender and their staff, my amazing Disco Stage DJs, all of our vendors, and most importantly, EVERYONE who came out and supported House In The Park.
But I want to share something most of you probably never knew happened.
Around 5 PM Saturday, after production and I had left for the day, a storm came through that was essentially a small tornado and tore through much of Vendor Village.
Our team immediately rushed back to the park. We worked with each vendor to repair tents, secure their merchandise and protect their goods until they could get back on site.
We stayed until midnight. Then we were back at 6 AM Sunday morning.
As if that wasn’t enough, a tree came down on the tennis courts, just a few feet from the stage, damaging the fence and putting the entire area at risk of being shut down.
There was a very real possibility that we would lose a major part of Sunday’s experience.
Thankfully, with the help of our incredible Parks & Recreation officials and the City of Atlanta, the tree was removed overnight, the area was made safe, and Atlanta Fire & Rescue cleared us to open the courts.
And thankfully, NO ONE WAS HURT.
I’m not sharing this to brag. I’m sharing it because it reminded me just how fragile all of this is.
The music. The production. The vendors. The stages. The people. The entire ecosystem that has to come together for an event like House In The Park to happen.
So as we close out House In The Park 2026, my message is simple:
Love on the people who love on you.
And love the experiences that feed your soul.
Because you never know how close something you love may come to not being here.
