Yesterday, our Florida Chapter Director, Tobias Borawski, attended the NEW BRIDGE Conference in Miami, FL, hosted by Aline Burkholder, Director of Atlantik-Brücke's New Bridge Program.

The event featured a thought-provoking panel discussion, “U.S. Elections – Implications for the World,” with support from German Consul General Christofer Burger. In breakout sessions, participants engaged in meaningful dialogue on transatlantic challenges, moderated by Maycaa Hannon, Policy & Regulation Manager at Hydrogenious LOHC.

The conference centered around “Transatlantic Challenges and Trends,” with a special focus on International Trade and Investments. The discussions resonated with a young, progressive audience eager to explore the future of U.S.-German relations.

New Bridge is a fellowship program connecting young leaders from marginalized communities in Germany and the U.S., fostering interdisciplinary exchange on transatlantic relations. This impactful program is generously supported by the Joachim Herz Stiftung and The Halle Foundation, and we extend our heartfelt thanks for their ongoing support.

We will build on these important conversations on November 21 in Tampa, when we host our official Launch event. We look forward to welcoming our community and establishing this new hub for collaboration and growth in the region.

Once per year, since 2009, the German American Chambers of Commerce host a German American Business Outlook event to dive into the important issues facing our German American business communities.

This past Wednesday GACC South was the host for the first time and welcomed over 200 attendees from across the United States to the unique and impressive Mercedes-Benz USA Headquarters in Sandy Springs to get unique insights from a panel of executives of the German American business community and present the results of the 2023 German American Business Outlook (GABO) Survey.

Among the biggest were:

3️⃣ is the number one investment German companies plan to focus on over the next couple years.

Thank you to our panelists Skordeles Tomkins Psillakis Teufel Zumdohme Zimmer and Schemionek for sharing their insights on how their respective companies hope to combat these challenges.

Of course, no event would be complete without a celebration afterwards! Following the panel discussion, we shifted gears to our Atlanta New Year’s Reception, where our guests were able to enjoy light drinks and appetizers in great company.
