🎣 THE BANKBOUND WEBSITE IS NOW 100% COMPLETE 🎣
A few months back, I came up with the idea of rebranding and taking Bankbound in a slightly different direction.
And today, I can finally say the new website is finished.
What makes me particularly proud of it is that I’ve built the whole thing myself — with no previous experience in computers, web development or building websites whatsoever.
Everything you see has been created through time, effort, plenty of learning, and probably a fair bit of frustration along the way 😂.
I could have simply paid a web developer to build a website for me, but I wanted this to be something more personal. I wanted to build it around what I think Bankbound should be, what I believe you guys should experience, and how I want this to grow over the coming years.
Because for me, Bankbound has never just been about fishing.
We all love fishing, and that's obviously what brings us together, but over the last few years I've really enjoyed witnessing what happens around the fishing — people meeting on the bank, friendships forming, conversations being had and anglers who may never have crossed paths becoming part of something together.
That’s what I’ve wanted to build.
Something that feels different to what’s already out there.
And for me, that experience now starts from the moment you visit the website.
🖤The new booking system allows you to book your socials, pay your deposit and then pay the remaining balance in instalments whenever you like.
🖤You can name the anglers you're coming with, giving you the best possible chance of fishing alongside your mates when the draw takes place.
🖤You can see the countdown to your next social, how many swims are remaining and the names of the anglers already booked onto the social.
🖤There’s also a loyalty scheme, where the more socials you book, the more discount you receive.
If you head into “The Bank”, you’ll find the Socials Archive, where you can look back at previous events and see the pictures from the socials.
And if you're lucky enough to catch a PB at a Bankbound Social, you can submit your catch directly through the website and become part of the Bankbound PB Hall of Fame. 🏆🎣
But it's not just the website that I want to make different.
When you're actually on the bank, I want the socials to feel like more than just fishing.
There'll be breakfast baguettes delivered directly to your swim in the morning, so you can enjoy breakfast without having to leave the lake. 🥖🥓
And during the day/,evening, I want to continue to bring everyone together with a barbecue, drinks and some music — creating a bit of an atmosphere where people can get together, have a chat, have a laugh and get to know the people they're sharing the bank with. 🎶🔥
And who knows where it might go from there…
In the winter, I may even invest in some proper cooking equipment so we can offer things like chilli con carne and other warm food to make those colder socials that little bit more enjoyable. 🥘
You can also order the incoming Bankbound merch alongside your bookings, with the first hoodies, caps and beanies now being made and more to follow.
But ultimately, all of this is just part of the bigger picture.
I want Bankbound to become something where you can turn up, feel comfortable, meet people, make friendships, have a laugh and genuinely feel like you're part of something.
This is only the beginning. I’ve got plenty more ideas for where I want to take Bankbound over the coming years, and hopefully you’ll all stay with me and continue to be part of the journey.
I’ve put a lot of time and effort into this, and I'm genuinely excited to finally share it with you all.
