Women Running Reading, we're making progress, but there's more to do!

Over the last three years, female finishers at the Green Park Reading events have remained consistent:

👟 Mini Marathon: 45% female finishers
💚 Half Marathon: 35% female finishers

We love seeing women and girls taking on challenges, building confidence and crossing that finish line. But we know we can do better!

The good news? 40% of our 2027 entries are currently female! Let's keep that momentum going and inspire even more women to take that first step, set a goal and be part of something special.

Sisters, friends and a shared running goal!

Meet Hannah & Becca!

For Becca, it was all about helping her sister Hannah achieve her sub-2.5-hour goal. And she absolutely smashed it!

Hannah first signed up because her friend wanted to train together. She narrowly missed her own sub-2.5-hour target by just two minutes, so she's back for another go!

Their favourite things about the Green Park Reading Half Marathon? The incredible crowds, the amazing support and that unforgettable atmosphere, even enjoying a b**r while walking up Russell Street! 🍻

Their advice to anyone thinking of joining us in 2027?

Becca: "Go for it – you'll have a blast!"
