The top 8 nett scores in the 2nd Division qualify for the Ann Bryant Bronze Championship knock out. ⛳️ 𝗥𝗼𝘆𝗮𝗹 𝗔𝘀𝗰𝗼𝘁

Congratulations to our 2nd team, captained by Gayle Kennedy, who secured an impressive draw against Bucks in their second league match of the season.

The players on the day were:
▪️ Annelise Churchill -Sonning Golf Club
▪️ Alex Cram - Easthampstead Ladies Golf Club
▪️ Fliss Deaney - Hennerton Clubhouse
▪️ Gayle Kennedy - Royal Ascot Golf Club
▪️ Katy Lansley - Easthampstead GC
▪️ Miwa Beer - Newbury & Crookham Golf Club

On a chilly Sunday the three pairings of Katy & Alex, Gayle & Annelise and Fliss & Miwa halved the morning foursomes. With one loss and one win, the final match was halved with Fliss holing a putt on the 18th.

The afternoon singles was standing at two wins and three losses when Fliss once again holed a great putt to win 1 up, squaring the match overall.

Many thanks to Royal Ascot Golf Club for their hospitality, ensuring the players were well fed and watered throughout the day.

With BWG having won one and halved one match, we now need to wait until Buckinghamshire hosts Oxfordshire at Harleyford on 23 July to determine what position we finish and whether we will play for 1st/2nd or 3rd/4th place in the Midlands South Regional Finals at Rushden Golf Club in Northamptonshire on 13 August.

🥳 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗴𝗿𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗔𝘂𝗱𝗿𝗲𝘆: 𝟵𝟬 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘀 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗴 𝘆𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗱𝗮𝘆!

Audrey, a member at The Club At Mapledurham, shows us all how it’s done. 18 holes of golf, a gym session afterwards and always with a smile. An inspiration in every sense!

Audrey’s husband was given some golf lessons as a present and thought she might like to have a go too. 'Nah, don’t fancy that,' she said; then 'ok, why not?' That was the beginning of a lifelong affair!

Audrey has no idea what she would do if she did not play golf and go to the gym, but her friends at Mapledurham think it's chatting in the sauna afterwards that keeps her going...

Many, many congratulations to you, Audrey: you are a legend. 🤩

𝗕𝗪𝗚 𝗦𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗼𝗿𝘀 𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗰𝗵 𝘃 𝗛𝗮𝗺𝗽𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗿𝗲 - 𝟲 𝗠𝗮𝘆 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲

Our Seniors team got the new season underway with their first league match last Wednesday, playing Hampshire at Basingstoke Golf Club.

The team battled well in unfamiliar territory: the course has undergone extensive redesign in recent years, with limited information available from SkyCaddie or Garmin devices and no stroke savers available in the pro shop.

Dominant last year, Hampshire again fielded a strong county team. However, Susan secured an excellent 4&3 victory, Sheree took her match against England international Kerry Smith to the 17th, and several other matches went to the closing holes and could have gone either way.

Result: Hampshire won 6–1

A disappointing result, but the team has higher hopes for their next match at Henley against Oxfordshire on 27 May.

Reminder: Today is the deadline for entering the Spring Meeting for Divisions 2 and 3.

This will be held at the Downshire Golf Complex on Tuesday 19 May.

The Div 2 competition is open to female members of BWG affiliated clubs with a Handicap Index of 20.1 to 28.0.

This is also a qualifier for the Bronze Championship, The Ann Bryant Cup (top 8 scores qualify).

The Div 3 Competition is open to female members of BWG affiliated clubs with a Handicap Index of 28.1 to 45.0.

*County Champion 2026 - Chloe Walkington*

Chloe played an excellent game against first-time finalist Katy Lansley. Congratulations to them both!

Well done also to Sarah Brown and Linda Hunt for reaching the semi-finals.

Luckily the final two rounds were completed today at Goring And Streatley Golf Club without any of the rain that had been forecast.
