This June, Clare Rees & I are taking on the Hyrox World Championships in Stockholm, but our biggest motivation isn’t the finish line, it’s our incredible friend, Helene.
Helene is a phenomenal athlete who has faced an unimaginably tough ride over the last 6 months battling gum cancer. After three life-changing surgeries, she is currently only able to open her mouth 5mm and is on a strict liquid-only diet. Seeing someone so active and vibrant hit with this level of adversity is heartbreaking, but her resilience inspires us daily. ❤️
That’s why we’ve set up a fundraiser to support Victoria's Promise, a charity doing vital, deeply personal work.
🎗️ About Victoria’s Promise
I recently had the privilege of speaking with Victoria’s Mum. Hearing firsthand the experience of losing her daughter to cancer—and how she is upholding a promise to Victoria by supporting other women—deeply moved us.
Victoria's Promise supports young women (aged 25-50) and their families through cancer and beyond, providing essential in-person support and services across hospitals in:
Basingstoke
Winchester
Frimley
🇸🇪 The Road to Stockholm
On Saturday 20 June, Clare and Ellie are stepping up to compete in the Women’s 40-44 Pro Double Championships at the Hyrox World Championships. Every grueling rep, every run, and every ounce of sweat will be dedicated to Helene and the countless women supported by Victoria’s Promise.
🫵 How You Can Help
We want to turn our sweat into tangible support. If you are able, please consider donating to our page. Your contribution directly helps young women navigate their toughest battles.
