Today, sadly, I said goodbye to my lovely friend Angela Robinson. I first met her at the Clun Green Man Festival years ago. I am sure a lot of you will remember her stall Fledglings as it featured a fabulous, miniature carousel that Angela had made to display her jewellery.
She was a very talented crafter and has left a lot of her wonderful makes. These will be on sale at The Legendary Faery Festival next August with all the proceeds going to Nightingale House Hospice.
So if you would like a memento of Angela, you will be able to purchase something to remember her by.
The year after (2027) will see inauguration of The Angela Robinson Memorial stall. This stall will be presented free of charge each year to a chosen craftsperson who is struggling and would benefit from a boost by standing at what was one of Angela’s favourite events.
I can’t think of a better way to celebrate the life of a generous, talented woman like Angela and I’m sure she would love the idea.
Today has been a day of many tears, but also to see the love and mutual support of her beautiful family was a privilege. Her eulogy was perfect recounting everything from Angela’s killer giggle to her delight in making lovely things. I was honoured to be able to attend today. I took yellow roses for friendship and she gave us all a beautiful rainbow over Carden Park. Good night, Sweetie, it was an absolute pleasure knowing you.
