Autumn Speaker Event – 10th November
Winter wildlife in the Hurtwood

The winter months are often regarded as a barren period for wildlife enthusiasts but actually there is so much to see.

Join ecologist Ben West on the evening of 10th November in Peaslake Village hall for an exploration of the natural history of the Hurtwood as he goes in search of Hairy Curtain Crusts, Slippery Jacks, Stinkhorns, Woodcocks and mixed tit parties!

Come and learn all about the mammals, birds, flora and fungi which have made the Hurtwood their home.

Ben is one of the most enthusiastic Naturalists in the area and he spends many hours on the Hurtwood; he will not only help you understand winter life on the Hurtwood, but he will also help point you towards the most interesting things to see when you are out walking and riding.

Can you help Peaslake Village Hall?

Peaslake Village Hall is looking for a volunteer with cost accountancy, or estimating experience to help us cost a 5-year programme of preventative maintenance and repairs in order to look after the Hall for the benefit of the community in years to come.

We have identified the work that needs to be done and now need someone with the right skills to help us put realistic costs against the plan and build a clear financial picture for the years ahead.
