💚 A Note About Our Programming
ISSAMBA Culture Days is intentionally designed to centre the celebration of many cultures coming together. That intention shapes not only who we represent in our programming, but also how we organize it.
Many of our performers, artists, vendors, and community contributors come from communities that have historically been underrepresented in public arts and cultural spaces.
They also have full lives beyond the festival — including family and caregiving responsibilities, full-time employment, disabilities, community commitments, and circumstances that may require flexibility.
For this reason, our lineups and schedules remain tentative and may shift, even on the day of the event.
We understand that knowing exactly when a particular performance will happen can make planning easier. We do our best to share increasingly accurate scheduling information as we get closer to the festival.
At the same time, we intentionally resist creating a festival environment where participation depends on everyone conforming to rigid timelines.
We invite you to come spend the time you have with us and experience the festival as it unfolds — discover an artist you may not have known, taste something new, meet your neighbours, dance, learn, and celebrate the many cultures that make our community what it is.
Equity, for us, is not only about who gets invited. It is also about creating conditions that make participation possible. 🌍✨
