Mike Ahombi is a Congolese-born, Canada-based international dance artist whose movement is rooted in the streets of Kinshasa and refined on the global stage. Dancing since the age of five, he grew up immersed in Ndombolo, Afro, Ghetto Zouk, and Hip Hop before relocating to North America in 2014, where he discovered Kizomba and never looked back.

Since settling in Canada in 2019, Mike has become known for his deep exploration of Tarraxo and his distinctive perspective on the relationship between performance and social dance. His signature style is defined by exceptional musicality, intentional movement, and a teaching approach that is as transformative as it is technical. Through his unique workshop settings, Mike creates immersive learning experiences that challenge dancers to connect more deeply with the music, their partners, and themselves.

A sought-after guest at festivals and congresses worldwide, Mike Ahombi continues to push the evolution of Afro partner dance while honoring its cultural roots.

Newly Certified Bachata Influence from Melvin & Gatica, they will be joining VIKF for the 3rd time. Don’t miss out the Influence πŸ”₯πŸ”₯

Hannah & Sebastian

Hannah, born and raised in Victoria, BC, has danced all her life, with a background in ballet, jazz, contemporary, and tap. She discovered Latin dance at UVic and quickly fell in love with its rhythm and connection.

Sebastian, originally from Mexico, grew up surrounded by music and dance. Together, they met through salsa at UVic and became partners both on and off the dance floor.

Today, they teach and share their passion for Latin dance with the community. In 2026, they travelled to Barcelona to become officially certified in Bachata Influence, making them the only certified Bachata Influence instructors in Western Canada. Their goal is to bring this unique approach to the dance community while inspiring dancers to develop their own style, musicality, and connection.

Christina Morrison is one of Canada’s premier dance professionals, bringing over 27 years of exceptional experience, passion, and technical expertise to the dance floor. Based in Victoria, BC, Christina is the driving force behind Salsa Caliente Dance Company, where she has dedicated her career to fostering a vibrant, inclusive, and high-energy dance community. Captivated by the rhythm from the moment she first saw Salsa at four years old, Christina has spent her entire life immersed in movement, building an extensive artistic background that spans ballet, jazz, competitive ballroom, and a foundational career as a professional musician and saxophonist.

Widely recognized for her deep specialization in Salsa On 2 (Mambo), Christina is a certified instructor by the World Salsa University in Puerto Rico. As an elite competitor, she has represented Canada twice at the World Salsa Open Championships and has since advanced to become a certified World Salsa judge. Her visionary choreography has been featured on Salsa Team Canada, in numerous music videos, and on tour with legendary acts like the Juno-nominated Puentes Brothers and the Grammy Award-winning Spanish Harlem Orchestra. Christina has shared her artistry widely, performing throughout North America, Europe, and the Caribbean.
Driven by a profound passion for preserving the rich cultural roots, and history of Afro-Latin dance, Christina has traveled extensively to immerse herself in the culture, learning from or sharing the stage with legendary pioneers and masters β€”including Cuban Pete, Eddie Torres β€œThe Mambo King,” Carlos Aroyo, Freddie Rios, Stacey Lopez, Nelson Flores, Tomas Guerrero, Jhesus Aponte, Jimmy Anton, Jayson Molina and Robert Castillo. in 2017 at a prestigious Colombian dance company. Internationally recognised for their mastery of
Bachata, they stand out for their rare fusion of styles and the unmistakable connection they bring
to every stage. With foundations in Salsa Cabaret, Tango, Contemporary, traditional Latin folk, and
later Brazilian dances, their versatility is both technical and deeply expressive.
Since joining forces, they have become a defining presence in the global Bachata scene. They were
crowned World Champions at Bachatart Fusion and Bachata Open, as well as two-time Spanish
National Champions.
But their influence goes far beyond the competition stage. As a duo with relentless creative minds,
Andres & Yessica are constantly pushing the boundaries β€” always searching for β€œthe impossible
flip,” exploring new perspectives, and inventing moves that go beyond technique to become
powerful concepts. Their signature acrobatics and deep connection to social dance have inspired
