An annual film festival of the best Jewish-themed cinema from across the globe. JIFF is proud to build on the great tradition established by the JFFA.

JIFF is the home to the most comprehensive selection of Jewish-themed and Israeli films in Australia and New Zealand. The films premiere in our annual film festival presented only in cinemas across Australia. The Jewish Film Festival is one of the longest running film festivals in Australia, operating continuously for the last 30 years. Created by the Jewish Film Foundation of Australia (JFFA), the festival is considered a pioneer of ethnic film festivals in Australia, which now form a vital and colourful part of the country's national cultural landscape. Moving Story Entertainment (formerly Champion Pictures P/L) is dedicated to the distribution of a select number of these Israeli and Jewish-themed films across all media: theatrical, educational, TV and VOD. Select titles are available for purchase on our partner cinemas' At Home platform, and ChaiFlicks. We look forward to sharing our dynamic slate of films with you.

Join us as we launch JIFF 2026 with a screening of the local documentary CANCELLED, examining the experience of Jewish creatives in Australia following October 7.

The film will be followed by a panel discussion with director Danny Ben-Moshe, producers Jamie Bialkower and Nicki Roller, and documentary subjects Deborah Conway (Melbourne) and Joshua Dabelstein (Sydney).

Set in Český Krumlov, the hometown of Egon Schiele’s mother, TABOO EGON SCHIELE offers a bold psychoanalytic reading of the artist’s deep connection to this Bohemian town—both as a physical place and a symbol of maternal longing, desire, and confinement.

Through Schiele’s paintings, writings, and poetry, the film explores his troubled relationship with women, his obsession with time and death, and his raw, modern vision that is still unsettling today. Drawing parallels with Kafka and the decline of the Austro-Hungarian Empire, TABOO EGON SCHIELE is a poetic journey into the mind and legacy of one of the most radical artists of the 20th century.

Screening for a limited time in Australian cinemas from this Saturday 11 July.

In 1937, the N**i regime launched its war on modernity, branding artists like Picasso, Chagall, Van Gogh, and Matisse as “degenerate”. Their works were banned, destroyed, or mocked in grotesque exhibitions, while A***n ideals were glorified in state-sponsored shows.

Framed by a major new exhibition at the Musée Picasso in Paris, the new documentary HITLER'S BIG FEAR: THE TRIAL AGAINST DEGENERATE ART revisits this ideological assault through rare footage, suppressed artworks, and the voices of curators and survivors.

Screening across Australia for a limited time this weekend.
