Our daughter Holly was diagnosed with Leukaemia in May 2014, when she was only 6 years old. We hope that you will be able to be part of this special day.

Unite4Kids supports the brave children facing serious illness and their families by partnering with charities that provide vital care, comfort, and hope.
🩷❤️🧡💛💜💙🩵💚🎗️ She completed more than 2 years of treatment and thankfully, is currently in remission. Unfortunately there are many other children who are still undergoing treatment, have relapsed or have lost their battle. With no control over what was happening to our precious daughter, the chemotherapy, countless medications, the hair loss, watching her struggle through treatment, loss of appetite, at times she even had to be separated from her brothers, friends and even us, her parents, to protect her from catching anything and jeopardising her treatment. Holly, like the many other unwell children, continue to be the bravest inspiration to us all, greeting every day with amazing positivity, resilience and strength. The Unite 4 Kids Luncheon raises money for three children's charities:

• Childhood Cancer Association - providing hands on help for children and their families who are impacted by cancer, in Holly’s words, “I can write to Elliot the Dog [the mascot for Childhood Cancer Association] and he writes back, there is always someone I can talk to.” https://childhoodcancer.asn.au/

• Clown Doctors - where laughter is the best medicine, who Holly says, “make me laugh and feel better when I’m in hospital” https://humourfoundation.com.au/

• Starlight Children's Foundation - brightening the lives of seriously ill children and their families by disrupting the relentless cycle of pain and trauma and offer a welcome break so that sick kids can simply be kids. https://starlight.org.au/

As a result The Advertiser Foundation are now in our FIFTH year of hosting the ‘Unite 4 Kids’ luncheon to raise money for these charities who help so many children and their families going through serious illness. We would like to invite you to be a part of this event and host your own table, make a donation and spread the word so together we can support these charities and the amazing work they do. It is an amazing day full of entertainment, special guests, a great atmosphere along with delicious food and beverages. In addition to this there will be a live charity auction and "smile wall" raffle. All proceeds from the event direct go to our three nominated charities. Kim & Ben Mead

Every bead tells a story. 💛💙💜💚🧡

Inspired by Holly’s Bravery Beads, each handmade bead represents a pledge of support for a child facing their own tough journey. Each one is a reminder of the courage, strength and resilience shown by seriously ill and disadvantaged children across South Australia, and the families beside them every step of the way.

At our June 2026 luncheon, we were so moved to see so many guests stand up, make a pledge and show their support for these incredible young people.

Each pledge was met with a special thank you — a handmade beach keyring lovingly created by the Unite 4 Kids Youth Advisory Board and our wonderful volunteers. 💙

A huge thank you to everyone who made a pledge and helped us turn these small acts of kindness into a big difference for children who need it most.

Because every child deserves to feel supported, encouraged and never alone on their journey. ✨

We have hundreds of photos from June, but this moment keeps pulling us back. 💛

At the Unite4Kids Luncheon, Matt and Jessica shared the story of their daughter, Lottie, who lives with a rare neurological disorder. After months of gruelling hospital treatment, Lottie’s Starlight Wish to visit Bluey’s World gave the family a much-needed moment of pure joy and hope.

Their story reminded everyone in the room what the day was truly about. Together, our community raised $289,000 to help create care, comfort and moments of joy for children and families facing incredibly tough days.

Unite4Kids is an independent South Australian charity raising vital funds to support children and families facing serious illness, disability and hardship. 🩷💛💙🤍

We work alongside three trusted frontline charities to turn community generosity into meaningful support:

Clown Doctors Australia brought laughter and connection to 7,852 children, family members and healthcare staff across 50 hospital visit days.

Childhood Cancer Association supported 186 children and young people through its programs and services.

Starlight Children’s Foundation delivered more than 630 Captain Starlight Rocket Round visits.

Four charities. Different forms of support. One shared purpose: making difficult days a little easier for children and families.

Every year, thousands of Australian families hear the words no parent ever expects: “Your child has cancer.”

For the Mead family, that moment came in 2014 when six-year-old Holly was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia. During more than two years of intensive treatment, they experienced the extraordinary support charities can provide to children and families facing serious illness.

Determined to give back, Holly’s family partnered with Angela Condous AM and The Advertiser Foundation to launch the inaugural Unite4Kids Luncheon. The overwhelming community support helped shape what Unite4Kids is today—an independent foundation partnering with trusted local charities to provide emotional care, practical assistance and moments of joy.

Holly is now a healthy teenager—a powerful reminder of resilience, hope and what a community united for kids can achieve.

Numbers help us measure impact. But behind every number is a child, a sibling, a parent or a family having a difficult day made a little lighter.

Over the past 12 months, Unite4Kids helped support more than 9,000 positive experiences across South Australia.

This included more than 630 Captain Starlight Rocket Round visits, 7,852 people reached through Clown Doctors visit days and 186 children and young people supported through Childhood Cancer Association programs and services.

Unite4Kids | Moments That Matter 💛

On Wednesday 3rd of June, Adelaide Oval was filled with heart, hope, and generosity for the 9th Unite4Kids Luncheon.

Thanks to the incredible support of everyone involved, an amazing $289,516 was raised to provide essential support, life-brightening experiences and vital relief for families such as Lottie’s who shared their story and the Moments that Matter.
