Jim Lauderdale has been a part of every CaveFest since the festival began in 2022. Who could forget 2024, when a brief power outage hit and Jim made the most of the moment, bringing his band in front of the outdoor amphitheater stage for an intimate acoustic performance? Magical moment from a magic man.

And honestly, does anyone know for sure that the CaveFest wizard and Jim Lauderdale aren't the same person? 🧙‍♂️

For CaveFest 2026, Jim will not only perform a set with his band, The Game Changers, but he'll also lead a special Bristol Sessions 100th Anniversary Celebration made possible by Birthplace of Country Music. The set will be taped for PBS and feature Elizabeth Cook, Carlene Carter, Dom Flemons and Ashley Monroe.

A special part of CaveFest this year is the John Prine 80th Birthday Celebration, honoring one of the most beloved songwriters in American music.

Prine’s songs are a touchstone for the CaveFest community, woven into campfire circles, late-night jams and the spirit of the festival itself.

The Tree of Forgiveness Band and special guests will salute Prine with a set of the Singing Mailman’s most enduring songs.

For the first time, we’re opening up a small number of volunteer opportunities for CaveFest lovin’ folks who want to help make the weekend magical.

Volunteer 2 assigned shifts during CaveFest and receive a reimbursement equal to the value of one GA CaveFest ticket, including the Friday pre-party, plus a meal voucher for each shift.

Spots are limited, and submitting an application does not guarantee a volunteer position.
