Summer's End Cruise-In

The Summer’s End Cruise-In is an annual event held at the end of summer that benefits Lawrence, KS charities. It all starts at 10:00 a.m.

If Summer has to end, then the best way to say so long is at the Annual Summer’s End Cruise In and BBQ Battle, a benefit for Lawrence, KS Charities. Set ‘em up Jack’s brings you the ultimate classic car and truck show in Lawrence, Kansas along with a BBQ competition that attracts some of the best cooks in the area. This event is held annually on the second Saturday of September at Broken Arrow Park, 31st and Louisiana St, Lawrence, KS. Show off your ride or check out all the entries at this family fun event. with the car show, food, beverages and entertainment. Awards for vehicles and BBQ teams are at 3:00 p.m. The show is free to enter your ride and free to the general public. BBQ teams are on a fee basis. All proceeds will be donated to local charities. Hope to see you at the park.

And the Winner is ...........Best in Show went to James O'Berg and his 1956 Ford Ranch Wagon. A great looking ride. The competition for Best in Show was tough but the Wagon came out on top. James has several cars that he could have brought to the show. He obviously chose well in bringing the wagon!

Thanks for sharing your ride with the crowd James. Hope to see you again next year.

2nd Place Best in Show went to Dean Huggins and his Ford Humpback. What a great looking ride. And the backstory on this one is this car was ordered from Ford by Dean's Grandpa and later given to Dean to get him back and forth to school on old dirt and gravel roads. Well, Dean did something right in the restoration as the car doesn't look today like it ever saw a back road in Kansas.

Best original or stock went to Debbie Eaton and her beautiful Chevy. Looks like it could have just come off the show room floor. Wonder what the sticker price would have been compared to value now? Thanks Debbie for sharing with us.

Best Low Rider was won by Erik Erazo and his 1979 Cadillac Coupe de Ville. Beautiful ride with lots equipment to make it low, high, jump and such. Cool car. Thanks for letting us all enjoy your Caddy.

Dean Huggins and his Ford 2 Door Humpback won in the best Custom or Modified category. What a really nice example of old world classics. Wonderful car. Thanks for bringing it out to the show!

The 1973 and older ride was won by Rich Bergen and the Mystery Machine. What a great addition to the show. And for all you scoobie do lovers, this was certainly a hit. Thanks Rich for bringing your van to the show.

It's that time! Time to start showing pics of winning rides at the show. There were plenty of great looking rides to choose winners from. Largest turnout in the shows history! So here we go with the first pic and my favorite for overall best. Didn't get a single vote though. How could that be? You be the judge. Give it a thumbs up if you agree this one should of had a least one vote for best in show.
