For my mother’s 77th birthday, I wanted to create something deeper than a pretty cake.
At first glance, you may see wrinkles, texture, cracks… the marks of time.
But if you pay attention, hidden within every line are roses.
Because aging is not something to hide.
It is love lived out loud.
It is sacrifice, wisdom, motherhood, resilience, heartbreak, prayers, joy, and grace woven together over decades.
This cake was my way of honoring every chapter of her story.
The wrinkles represent time.
The roses represent the love that remained through it all.
