Our Story

Epically Geeky Expo (EGX), formerly CTC Geekfest, is our region’s oldest con. EGX is a celebration of all things geek that fosters creativity and a sense of community among attendees while raising funds for CTC student scholarships and programs.

Formed in 2010, the event started as a fundraiser for the Central Texas College Ambassador program. What started with just a two-day event with a handful of vendors and programs has grown into a three-day event spanning two buildings, with more than 100 vendors and more than 100 programs. Some of our most popular programs include our costume contest, anime contest, Comic Jam, Artist Dojo, 5k, Rocky Horror Picture Show with a live shadowcast, and video game and tabletop gaming tournaments. We also show movies and shows in the planetearium throughout the event, and have a variety of talks and demos hosted by volunteers and groups.

EGX is run by volunteers and we’re always looking for people to help implement new ideas! Send us a message if you’re interested in being a part of the fun.
