This is the official Facebook fan page for the Carolina Renaissance Festival! The Carolina Renaissance Festival operates 8 consecutive weekends in the fall. The Festival opens again Saturdays and Sundays, October and November. The Carolina Renaissance Festival is an outdoor, open air 16th century European style art and entertainment festival combining outdoor theater, circus entertainment, arts and crafts marketplace, a jousting tournament, a feast fit for royalty, and much much more. The Carolina Renaissance Festival was introduced in 1994 with six acres of exhibits, attractions and entertainment. The event has grown into a 25 acre theme park filled with charming cottages and castles, kitchens and pubs, and a most unusual collection of people powered rides and games of skill. The Carolina event has grown to be one of the largest of the Renaissance fairs nationwide. Tree lined lanes are filled with over 140 purveyors of crafts and food, and non-stop music and comedy shows are presented on 16 stages every event day. This is one of the most interactive entertainment shows ever created with wonderful amusements and antics ongoing all around you! You can sit back and watch, or you can become a part of the action, surrounded by over 500 costumed characters roaming the festival village. The village lanes are full of peasants singing sea-faring songs and street entertainers surprising you with tall tales and tricks, each with a role to play. You can experience the clashing of armor and the thundering of hooves daily with full combat jousts at the Queen's Tournament Arena.

LanguageLine Solutions and Central Piedmont College are proud to partner with the Carolina Renaissance Festival to provide a renaissance experience for members of the Deaf community. Anyone interested in Deaf awareness is invited to share in this special occasion.

On Saturday, October 10th, certified sign language interpreters will interpret stage performances at select stages located inside the village. And special guest Deaf Storyteller Dack Virnig will perform. Dack is in the fourth generation of a Deaf family and credits his mom for inspiring his storytelling passion. Dack performs at universities, deaf schools and numerous deaf events around the country. Don’t miss Dack at the Treetop Stage!

Today, we celebrate the workers, dreamers, makers, builders, entertainers, artisans, and merry folk whose talents and hard work help make great things happen at Renaissance Festivals. ✨

They are the ones who arrive before the gates open and stay until the last bit of merriment has faded into the dark. They build, create, cook, perform, sell, greet, guide, entertain, solve problems, lend a hand, and somehow help turn an ordinary patch of land into an extraordinary fairytale village.

They come from all walks of life and bring an amazing collection of talents, personalities and passion.

Some are seasoned festival veterans. Some are joining the realm for the very first time. Some come for a seasonal job, some for the extra income, and some simply because they love being part of something that makes people smile.
