Concert series at St. Alban's Episcopal Church in Davidson, NC. Our Sunday afternoon concerts, held in the warm and inviting environment of Davidson's St.

Alban's Church, provide our audience members the opportunity to enjoy a wide array of high level chamber music concerts. Our concerts feature musicians from near and far, in classical, jazz, and other genres. We invite you to help support emerging artists by arriving early to hear pre-concert performances by young, talented musicians. We also encourage you to stay after the concerts for our "meet the artist" receptions, during which you can engage with the performers. Continued support from donors like you makes it possible for this extraordinary musical program to offer diverse, world-class performances to our communities. Music at St. Alban’s opens its 2026-27 concert season on Sunday, September 20 at 3:00 p.m. with a concert featuring the Ciompi Quartet, along with the Larkspur Quartet.

Ciompi Quartet, the string quartet in residence at Duke University, will be joined by the Larkspur Quartet for Mendelssohn’s stunning Octet. The Ciompi Quartet will also play works by J.S. Bach, Charles Ives and more.

The concert will be preceded by a special pre-concert performance at 2:20 p.m.

Music at St. Alban’s (M@SA) is back for another year with a lineup of spectacular talent that has something that will appeal to everyone.

Please join us on Sunday, September 20, at 3:00 p.m. as we open our season with a concert featuring the Ciompi Quartet, along with the Larkspur Quartet.

Our 2025-26 season wrapped yesterday with a fabulous concert by the dynamic duo of Noel Freidline and Maria Howell. Thank you to everyone who attended our concerts this season! We look forward to seeing you again in the fall.

Noel Freidline and Maria Howell explore and re-interpret some of the best music of the last 80 years. Approaching the music from “the left,” Noel and Maria offer listeners something they have heard, but that they have never heard before. Combine this fresh musical approach with a rapport and witty banter and you have Noel and Maria in their element.

Come early for a spotlight conversation with the artists, hosted by DavidsonLearns at 2:00 pm, and stay after for a meet-the-artists reception!

Everyone had a great time at yesterday's thank-you event for M@SA donors. After mingling and prosecco, attendees were charmed and entertained by Ethan Uslan playing Cole Porter songs and ragtime piano tunes. Afterwards, everyone enjoyed Mary Emerich's outstanding reception food and more socializing. We at M@SA are very grateful to our donors for helping make what we do possible!

M@SA hosted Lovell Bradford, jazz musician and educator at the Ada Jenkins LEARN Works on April 23, 2026. LEARN Works is a thriving after school academic program. Lovell was accompanied by 5 young artists who performed and demonstrated the sounds of their instruments, including the guitar, bass, sax, keyboard, drums ad cymbals, Lovell described different genres of jazz as the musicians displayed their instruments. Their jazz rendition of “Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star” brought 82 elementary school students to the feet as they sang and danced. By the end of the activity, the seeds of finding joy in music were planted.

Yesterday's performance by Trio Ondata moved and delighted the audience, who were also amazed and charmed by the poise and excellent playing of our young artists, students of Erika Cutler's. Thanks and appreciation to all the performers, and to all who attended!
