CYBR.SEC.Events a security conference that has grown in Houston over the last 15 years is happening today in the GRB.
The event that started in 2010 with just 100 attendees today draws roughly 3,500 cybersecurity professionals from around the country. Rooted in Houston, this year the event chose to organize its expo space using local street names.
“While we’ve taken our event national, we are a Houston event and we’re here to stay. This is just an example of that,” said Mary DiFiore-Smith, the event’s program director.
DiFiore-Smith said the education-focused event hopes to hit 5,000 attendees next year and grow to 10,000 in five years. “The team at the GRB is great. Today we walked the floor to plan for how we’ll grow next year and what our event will look like when the new GRB South opens.”
