We adopt the key tenets of the U.S.Center for SafeSport.

SHOW-SAFE is a grassroots 501(c)(3) nonprofit that prevents and responds to abuse and misconduct through education and a safety net of direct services, so that every individual in dog sports is protected, connected, and empowered to thrive. Show-Safe is dedicated to educating dog show stakeholders on the perils of sexual misconduct within the dog exhibition community, promoting awareness, deterrence, and prevention while fostering a safe and inclusive environment for all participants and their beloved canine companions.

💚HANDLE WITH CARE: ADULT EDUCATION. JUNIOR PROTECTION.
How can we create a safer, stronger dog show community for the next generation? It starts with the adults who guide, mentor, and support our juniors.

Join SHOW-SAFE on Thursday, November 5, from 7:00–8:00 PM for a FREE online safety awareness clinic designed for all adults who work with juniors in dog sports.

🐾 Handle With Care is a one-hour online educational session focused on practical, real-world best practices to help adults recognize their role in protecting juniors and building a show community rooted in safety, respect, and accountability.

Whether you’re a club leader, breeder, exhibitor, mentor, or parent, your role matters. Together, we can help create an environment where young handlers can learn, grow, and thrive.

🏆 WATCH DOG SHOW HISTORY. SUPPORT A SAFER FUTURE.

A heartfelt thank you to Club Doggit for donating a portion of the proceeds of their Champions Round Table documentary series to support our work at SHOW-SAFE.

They are not only preserving the stories and knowledge of the people who have shaped our sport, but investing in a community rooted in safety, respect, and opportunity for generations to come. 💚

Their feature-length premiere episode, Westminster Legends, runs just over two hours and features Pat Trotter, Bill McFadden, Valerie Nunes-Atkinson, Andy Linton, and Janice Hayes sharing candid stories about their careers, great dogs, mentors, defining moments, and the future of purebred dogs.

🤝HEALTHY RELATIONSHIPS INCLUDE RESPECT.
October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month — an opportunity to remind our community that healthy relationships are built on respect, trust, communication, boundaries, and safety.
Learning what healthy relationships look like is part of prevention.
For young people especially, having trusted adults and supportive connections can make a meaningful difference.
No one should be in a situation with any partner or family member that includes physical violence, sexual abuse, insults, humiliation, or coercive control regarding their movements, their finances, their communications or other threats to their safety and well being.

💚 Respect is always a good place to start.
If you or someone you love needs domestic violence support, call the national domestic violence helpline at 1-800-799-7233, or we at SHOW-SAFE are always here to help you navigate resources by calling our helpline at 1-859-203-8683. In an emergency, call 911.
