The 45th Annual Best of the Bluegrass - Festival of the Horse is taking place now through September 13th in downtown Georgetown. The annual free-admission community tradition celebrates our region's rich horse heritage with parades, live music, carnival rides, and local food.
⚠️Main Street is closed from Broadway to Chambers Avenue for the festivities.

A new shopping center is planned for the west side of Georgetown. Canewood Commons will soon begin construction and offer a mix of retail and restaurant space on Canewood Center Drive, just off Frankfort Road and across from the new Publix Shopping Center. Jersey Mike's Subs is expected to occupy one space, leaving two available spots, including a drive-thru space on one end.
Time will tell if a chicken restaurant is on its way...

The new Huck's, located at 1000 Lemons Mill Road, is nearing completion. Huck's will not only offer 🍕 Godfather's pizza, but also a new option for Georgetown's fried bird aficionados. 🐔 Cluck’s Coop Fried Chicken will serve up hand-breaded fried chicken, tenders, and potato wedges made throughout the day. Huck’s will also have the usual stop-and-go items like roller dogs, burgers, breakfast sandwiches, those drinks you can't fit in your cupholder and cheap coffee. ☕

Exciting news for Sadieville and for fans of Country Boy Brewing! Country Boy Distilling will be opening Scott County's first distillery since the repeal of Prohibition at the former location of Hi-View Meats later this fall. The 1,300-square-foot facility will include a small bar area for sampling cocktails and b**r.

The question of whether Target is coming to Georgetown has finally been answered. YES, according to the developer, Target will be the main anchor of Georgetown Commons in late summer/early fall of 2027.

Other tenants confirmed for Georgetown Commons include Chili's, Hobby Lobby, Five Below, Marshalls, Boot Barn, Chase Bank, HomeGoods, Sierra, Burlington, Rack Room Stores, PetSmart, Nothing Bundt Cake, Luxor Nails, Mattress Firm, 7 Brew, Panda Express, and Swig.

Georgetown Commons is a mixed-use development featuring retail, restaurants, and housing. In addition to retail space, the project will include 288 apartments, space for assisted living homes, and either a wellness center or possibly a sports and entertainment complex.

A new Baskin-Robbins and Jimmy John's are opening soon on Southgate Drive, bringing sandwiches and ice cream to the south end of town.
There are also two additional storefront locations for lease, ideal for restaurants, boutiques, or maybe something new and different for Georgetown.
