Vent Haven Museum is excited to announce Stephen Reynolds as it’s new curator. Stephen is a former teacher and also worked in the tech industry, providing customer service, training, and onboarding. His most recent position was with NetDocuments Document Management System, a company specializing in organizing and archiving legal documents. He brings all these unique experiences to the unique position of curator. Stephen, his wife, and two children are from Northern Kentucky and look forward to the amazing world of all things ventriloquism! Welcome, Stephen!

Today Al Getler visited Jim Ott in his hometown of Pleasanton, California. And pleasant it was! Al met Jim’s family including his very vent-patient wife and his up and coming vent-grandson. Jim surprised Al with a Charlie McCarthy spoon! Al will tag it as a gift from Jim! Such a wonderful guy and an instant friend when Al met him at the ConVENTion.

CLIP LINK BELOW - During World War II, after winning an Academy Award, Jimmy Stewart enlisted in the U.S. Army Air Forces. While he was a lieutenant in training, the military utilized his celebrity status for public relations and recruitment, which included teaming him up with Edgar Bergen and his famous ventriloquist dummy, Charlie McCarthy. Screen Snapshots short (later featured in the retrospective Hollywood Laugh Parade), Charlie McCarthy is depicted as an Army private facing a burlesque court-martial. Lieutenant Jimmy Stewart serves as Charlie's defense counsel. The humor comes from Stewart trying his best to earnestly defend the dummy, despite Charlie's constant, wooden interruptions and wisecracks. [Google Gemini]

WASHINGTON COURT HOUSE, Ohio — Local 11-year-old Rylie Leighann Smith captured two major honors at the 50th Anniversary Vent Haven International Ventriloquist Convention in Erlanger, Kentucky, just seven months after receiving her first puppet.
