Submit your horror script to the Ethereal Horror Fest Script Competition for a chance to win the Best Script Award and to see your work come to life in a live, staged table read during the festival’s Closing Day events!

Submit your script to the Ethereal Horror Fest Film Freeway page! Submissions for short horror screenplays are $35 regular or $30 for Gold Members. Submissions for feature-length horror screenplays are $60 regular or $54 for Gold Members.

Submissions are due by September 6, 2026. Official selection notifications come out September 20, 2026. Official selections will receive:
-One (1) complimentary 3-Day Ethereal Horror Festival Pass
-Inclusion in the festival’s Script Library, available to attendees throughout the event
-Eligibility for the Best Script Award

Scripts for films, TV pilots, web series, and theatrical performances are all eligible.
Short screenplays are 39 pages or less. Feature-length screenplays are 40 pages or more.

The pitch competition will take place on the opening night, with the winner announced during the Awards Party on Saturday night.

The 7th Annual Ethereal Horror Fest is taking over Violet Crown Cinema in downtown Austin, Texas, October 16–18, 2026. Kick off Halloween a little early with three days of horror, indie film, and spooky fun.
