Michael Hyon Johnson - a BlacKorean Air Force veteran and writer/director. He’s produced award winning narrative short films, music videos, and branded content and is the co-founder of the video production company Story Mode.​

From the red carpet to the awards stage, it was a beautiful setting for a powerful night of storytelling, recognition, and community.

We are grateful to the Skirball team and staff for helping create an environment where veterans, filmmakers, industry leaders, and supporters could come together to elevate veterans in media and continue redefining the narrative.

Before we share more about the MVAs and the powerful weekend we just experienced, we want to first honor the true meaning of Memorial Day.

Today is not about celebration. It is about remembrance. We honor the men and women who gave their lives in service to our nation, their families who carry that sacrifice, and the freedom made possible by their courage.

The Military & Veteran Entertainment Awards exists to elevate veterans in media and redefine the narrative — but today, we simply remember.
