Announcing as a partner of .photo 2026! 🥳

We’re excited to have MPB supporting this year’s festival as the sponsor of the Local Photographer Award 🇵🇹🌍, celebrating outstanding street photography created by photographers based in Portugal, with a dedicated exhibition during the festival weekend and a voucher prize to support the winner’s future photographic work and equipment needs.

As the world’s largest platform for buying, selling, and trading used camera gear, MPB has built a global community around making photography more accessible and sustainable for creatives everywhere.

We’ll also be inviting local photographers – including members of the festival team – to create a series of Lisbon photography guides over the coming months, sharing their favourite spots and places connected to their way of seeing the city.

🚨 T-8! As the deadline to our Open Call approaches, we’re continuing to share advice on what to pay attention to when preparing your series submission.

A project description shouldn’t explain the images in a series, but offer a perspective into them. Strong submissions are often defined less by a “big concept” and more by a clear and consistent way of seeing and engaging with the street. Jurors tend to notice editing and sequencing first, but clear and precise writing can strengthen the way a project is understood and remembered.

Our Programme & Education Director Teresa Freitas () shares a few thoughts on how to write a clear project description for your submission.

➡️ You can still submit to our Open Call via the link in bio until May 31st!
