**ATMAN 2027 – A Difficult Announcement … NOT THIS YEAR**
Some places become destinations. Others become family.
For us, Sri Lanka has never been just another location on the map. It is our second home. It is where ATMAN was born, where this incredible journey began, where friendships turned into family, and where so many beautiful souls are still waiting for us.
Since 2020, we have been trying to return. Every year something happened. Every year we had to postpone. Yet we never stopped believing.
This time felt different.
We were invited back, supported by institutions, endorsed by the Ministry of Tourism, and after months of work we had restarted all the conversations, all the permits, all the collaborations. ATMAN 2027 – Back on the Island was no longer just a dream. It was becoming real. And for the first time in a very long time, we were convinced that this was finally our year to return.
Then the world decided otherwise.
While powerful nations play geopolitical chess with people's lives, countries still finding their footing have once again been pushed into uncertainty. Sri Lanka is facing a new crisis ; fuel rationing, food insecurity, rising costs, pressure on resources, and concerns that touch the everyday lives of millions of people.
And suddenly, the question became very simple:
How can we ask people to celebrate when many are worried about basic necessities? How can we organize a festival when resources are needed elsewhere? How can we bring artists and guests from across the world when transportation and energy supplies remain uncertain?
We have always believed that ATMAN is more than a festival. It is a community. And a community must know when it is time to dance... and when it is time to wait.
So, with a heavy heart, we have made the difficult decision to postpone our return to Sri Lanka for one more year.
To every artist we had already spoken with. To every partner and collaborator who had started building this dream with us. To every member of the Tribe who continued believing alongside us.. thank you. And we are sorry. Because we believed until the very last moment. We hoped until the very last moment.
As always, this is not a farewell to the island we love. Sri Lanka has our heart, and always will. This is simply another "see you soon."
And when the time finally comes, we will return together, stronger than ever, to celebrate where it all began.
Until then, we won't be standing still. A brand-new chapter is already taking shape. A new country. New collaborations. A destination no one is expecting. The announcement is coming soon. Stay tuned.
Sri Lanka, thank you for teaching us that home is not a place. It is the people who wait for you to return.
Until we meet again. ❤️
