What good is a grand adventure without having someone to tell the tale?
Well thankfully for us… we’ve got Ren!

During our first event you could mostly find them darting around the space trying to make sure everyone was having a good time and checking in on our incredible vendors, but not just a pretty face…

Ren, a core member of the gang, also handles our marketing, all of our styling & design work, and the words that you read! (Yes… including the previous sentence). Alongside Andrew they make sure we look dead cool, and keep you up to speed with all that’s going on!

Avid film and comic book fan, when not working away on Geek Mania, Ren can often be found playing D&D, Magic! The Gathering or on the radio!

Whenever we gather to discuss what we’d like to have or do at Geek Mania, Doug makes sure that we remember the people who are going to experience it, and keeps those at the heart of decision making.

To try and ensure that there is something for everyone, and that those things are accessible to everyone who’s interested. Caring isn’t just in his nature, it is also his real world job!

An expert on many a nerdy topic! From Video Games to Pokémon, One Piece to TTRGPs, Doug will find you a space and be able to help get you started!

Alongside partner in crime, Will, he’s excited to welcome more people into our wonderful community!

Yes, you heard us correctly. Tickets for Geek Mania 2 are officially on sale!

But that’s not all…we wanted to celebrate the grand ‘kicking off’ our second event in style.
So if you buy a ticket for Geek Mania within the month of September (that’s this month!) you’ll be in with a chance to win a £50 in-store gift voucher for our mothership Planet JJ’s Geekery

That’s a lot of Pokémon cards, or a lot of dice… or cake… or… you get the idea!

Once we hit October, we’ll round up everyone who’s brought a ticket pick one lucky winner and get in touch!

When she’s not minding the shop at Planet JJ’s or ruling the Pokemon tables at Planet JJ’s you’ll find Jess hard at work making sure Geek Mania is up to scratch!

Core to the team, Jess, has a staggeringly impressive wealth of knowledge when it comes to the TCG space, that’s Trading Card Game in case you didn’t know. Having been more card shows and conventions that we could possibly count!

She knows what makes them work, and what doesn’t… she uses all of that expertise to help guide the decision making process and all the planning that goes into Geek Mania!

Our Jess is super excited to have a bigger event with tons of cool activities to try, and is looking forward to shopping with our incredible vendors and artists too!

The hallmark of a great camera person is to make you forget they are even there, but out the corner of your eye… if you’re very lucky, you might catch our Leo!

Much like our first event, Leo will be darting around Geek Mania 2 getting a huge number of awesome shots which he’ll - very cleverly - edit together for a selection of stills and an ‘on-the-day’ montage for our socials!

When he’s not making films, for Geek Mania or his own projects, Leo will often be watching films or working on a cosplay! Gearing up for our cosplay contest perhaps?!

Being a massive fan of Godzilla, Pokemon, Star Wars, and Marvel, Leo’s looking forward to seeing how the event evolves from the first time round, and seeing all the ideas become reality!

At our first Geek Mania event Will spent a good chunk of the day welcoming you lovely lot in, getting to know the folks who visited us and helping you find the right sections for you!

Utilising those impeccable customer service skills honed over the last 20 years at his day job, focusing on customer service in a call centre!

You’ll likely hear our Will before you see him. With a laugh so joyfully loud you can’t help but join in, and he’ll be more than happy to chat all things Pokemon or Warhammer - so if you want a friendly face to get into either of those games you know where to go!

All throughout planning Will (with his partner in crime, Doug) puts visitor experience at the heart of everything we do and is looking forward to helping more people enjoy the geekier side of life!

Whilst you may not be recognise our Andrew - hence the introduction - you’ll certainly be familiar with his work…

Our chief techie and core to our crew, he’s responsible for everything from keeping our website updated to how we scan your tickets - he even scheduled this post. Putting his personal & professional skills as a computer programmer to excellent work, Andrew’s handiwork is weaved into the very fabric of Geek Mania!

Pitching in wherever’s needed to help GM2 be bigger and better than the first!

When not tinkering with tech for Geek Mania, Andrew’s often doing it for fun, and of course, playing an awful lot of Pokemon! (Once you’ve picked up how to play, he’s the man to beat!)

If you asked him, he’d say he mostly spends time pretending to be important, and does an awful lot of nodding and agreeing.

But really, he does much much more. The leader of the operation, Jed, has final sign off on all of our plans and ideas, and makes all the important phone calls. All while keeping the rest of us on track, and true to the core ideas of what we want Geek Mania to be; a joyful and accessible celebration of geekiness.

‘The community and the people who share our love for all things geeky are at the heart of why we do this. We know there are many other events out there but we feel we are the ones who put the community first and celebrate everything geeky.’ - The man himself

Outside of GM, you’ll find The Head Honcho at Planet JJ’s Geekery in Tonbridge, likely chatting about Star Trek or Star Wars or Pokemon or Fable or Dungeons & Dragons… the list goes on…

Prepare for the next adventure… Geek Mania 2 is coming!

Consider this your official reminder to mark your calendars… 22/11/26, save the day!

We’d also like to thank all of you, for making our first event such a wonderful day.
From all of the truly spectacular vendors, and special guests, to every one of you who paid us a visit, we loved every single minute of it, and we couldn’t have done it without you.

The feedback was incredible and slightly overwhelming, but it was clear… the people wanted more, so WE’RE BACK, in November 2026!

We’ll be keeping our socials up to date with all the goings-on, so keep an eye out for updates!

Oh, and if you could help us out by dropping a cheeky like, follow, and sharing our posts, it really does do wonders.
