🙌🏻 INTRODUCING THE JUDGES! It’s the Godfather of indie film in the North East CRAIG CONWAY!

🤩 Craig has had a broad, varied and greatly successful career in the creative industry that spans three decades.

🎭 An actor by trade, his journey began on the legendary OUR FRIENDS IN THE NORTH! This led to parts in cult classic feature films DOG SOLDIERS and DOOMSDAY! He even starred in THE DUKE alongside national treasure JIM BROADBENT

🎬 Last year he made his directorial debut on Red Riding, a film which is currently wowing audiences across the country. He also found the time to co-found the groundbreaking RUNWAY ROOMS which is well on its way to revolutionising growth and opportunity for emerging creatives in this land we call home!

🥰 He’s a busy lad is our Craig. We’re so pleased he’s made time to join the TVIFF 2026 judging panel.

🥳 Currently Script Editor on the legendary soap, Jess has had a long and fruitful career with ITV. She celebrates her tenth year with the broadcasting giants this year!

🎭 She was also one of the judges of the TVIFF Monologue Competition and has attended several editions of the greatest celebration of creative media the world has ever known.

🤩 Welcome to the TVIFF 2026 judging panel, Jess. Your knowledge, experience and eye for detail make you the ideal person to help decide who takes home a TVIFF award this year!

🙌🏻 INTRODUCING THE JUDGES! Give it up for BILL FELLOWS one of the finest actors to ever come from the North East!

🤩 Born and raised in Middlesbrough, Bill was seen most recently in SMOGGIE QUEENS, as key character Stu Carpenter in CORONATION STREET and the hilarious George Cartrick in the worldwide hit series TED LASSO!

🥰 Bill comes back to his native Teesside frequently to lend his exceptional acting talent to works by the same independent filmmakers that TVIFF aims to support the most!

🎬 So with that in mind, plus the fact that he’s stood shoulder to shoulder with TVIFF from day one, his place on the TVIFF 2026 judging panel was well earned!

🙌🏻 INTRODUCING THE JUDGES! Meet major award winning script writer ISHY DIN!

📺 Ishy has a wealth of top level TV writing credits to his name, including ‘Shakespeare and Hathaway’ for the BBC and ‘Ackley Bridge’ for Channel Four!

🥰 His exceptional work is greatly inspired by his upbringing and early working life in Middlesbrough and is regularly showcased at Live Theatre in Newcastle!

🎭 Ishy has also enjoyed longstanding working relationships with the Royal Shakespeare Company, Manchester Royal Exchange and the Royal Court Theatre.

👑 Speaking of his connections to all things Royal…earlier this year Ishy was awarded an MBE for Services to the Arts and Young People, an achievement he said he hoped would inspire others across Teesside to pursue their creative interests.

💯 “Hopefully it will demonstrate that you can build a career if you have that resilience and keep working on it, people will recognise your efforts," he said.

🙌🏻 INTRODUCING THE JUDGES! Meet BAFTA, EMMY & RTS winning filmmaker SOPHIE ROBINSON who will join the TVIFF 2026 judging panel!

🍿 Sophie has a breathtaking body of work to her name. Her film ‘My Beautiful Broken Brain’, a Netflix Original feature documentary was executive produced by David Lynch.

🎬 She has made BAFTA & EMMY winning films such as ‘Surgeon’s Cut’ for Netflix and ‘Your Life in Their Hands’ for the BBC, plus ‘My Dead Body’ and docu-series ‘Accused - The Fake Grooming Scandal’ both for Channel 4.

🤝 Sophie is passionate about the advancement of diversity and representation in the creative industry and has explored diversity, disability and representation issues through another of her exceptional films ‘Tourette’s Hero: Me, My Mouth and I’.

💯 Like TVIFF, Sophie Robinson goes above and beyond to give opportunities to new and unrecognised creative talent so her seat on the TVIFF 2026 judging panel was almost custom made!

🥳 Our good friends at the Northern Festival of Cinema are taking their event to a new height this year!

🍿 The Tyneside Cinema will be their venue on 4th July! A location as wonderful as the festival itself!

🍿We’re BUZZING to announce that the TVIFF produced music video MANOSPHERE by INTERROBANG has been selected for a screening at the renowned BRIGHTON ROCKS FILM FESTIVAL!

🤩 The video was filmed, crewed and cast entirely in the Tees Valley and is another shining symbol of the North East independent film community that continues to blossom.

🍿 It’s good crack this film festival stuff! Get involved! 🥳
